Attachments Cylinder Handling Precautions 1. Storage

• The cylinder contains hydraulic oil with vaporizing anti-rust agent added as remaining oil, so do not carelessly remove the port plug or drain the remaining oil in the cylinder. • When leaving the piston rod surface exposed when stored, operate the cylinder back and forth and perform anti-rust operation once or twice per month. • Apply anti-rust oil or grease once or twice per month to the exposed part of the piston rod (part that cannot be anti-rust processed even by operating the cylinder back and forth).

• At initial operation, completely bleed out the air in the cylinder. If the air remaining inside the cylinder is rapidly pressurized, a "diesel effect" can result, scorching the seal. Thoroughly bleed out the air from the cylinder in the following cases. 1) When operating the cylinder for the first time after assembling (or reassembling) the cylinder 2) When operating the cylinder for the first time after installing the cylinder to the main unit, machine, or device 3) When the air is mixed inside the cylinder by removing a line Perform air bleeding using the following procedure. 1) Reduce the flow of the hydraulic pressure source. (After installing to the vehicle, run the engine at low idle.) 2) Slowly move the cylinder through its stroke 4 - 5 times so that the cylinder stops at about 20 - 30 mm from the front of the stroke end on both the extension and retraction sides. 3) Next, move the cylinder through the stroke 3 - 4 times over its full stroke.
3. Hydraulic oil
• Applicable hydraulic oil Use mineral oil-type hydraulic oil (ISO VG32 or VG46 or equivalent) or diesel engine oil (SAE 10W-CD or equivalent). For other types of hydraulic oil, please consult us. • Use temperature range Use within the range of -30 ℃ to 100 ℃ . • Hydraulic oil purity Maintain within NAS class 11. However, be careful that the maximum particle diameter of foreign matter does not exceed 0.1 mm.
