9 Operation – CLAAS Communicator 9.1 CLAAS Communicator

9.1.5 Switching the CLAAS Communicator on / off 1

To switch on, push the “ON” button (1) for approx. 1 second – the start menu appears. To switch off, also push the “ON” button for approx. 2 seconds, the control systems switches off automatically after going through a switch-off routine (Stand-By). Note! 5

When making the connection between the machine (mounted equipment) and the CLAAS Communicator for the first time, the programme for the control of the machine is transmitted from the computer on the machine to the CLAAS Communicator. The transfer process can take several minutes, until the first control menu of the machine is displayed. When transferring the programme, the menus are stored in the memory of the CLAAS Communicator. After switching the CLAAS Communicator off and on again, the menus are displayed after approx. 5 seconds. If, after switching on, the “Start Menu” of the machine, e.g. Quan_10 (Fig. 5) is not displayed, the memory of the Communicator is full and the programme cannot be stored. The CLAAS Communicator has sufficient memory for several programmes for machine control (mounted equipment). In order to be able to store an additional programme if the memory is full, you must first delete a programme. For further information see Memory management, page 28. (Fig. 5)
