14 11.2.6 Opening / closing the knife frame completely

Danger!

The knife frame can be closed from the tractor. There is a danger of squashing by moving machine components. – Switch off engine. – Remove the ignition key. When working on / in the knife frame there is an increased risk of injury from the sharp machine components! – Wear gloves.

Opening the knife frame

If the knife frame is to be opened completely (e.g. to change blades, for repair work or for removing the rotor):

Actuate the “Soft Key”

– in order to open the knife frame. Symbol appears in the status bar. – The Terminal emits an acoustic signal. – The blades are still located in the guide of the knife frame.

Danger!

Pushing the button (S3) automatically lowers the pickup down to the floor. There is a danger of squashing by moving machine components. – Maintain adequate distance to the pickup.

Push the button (S3) above the knife frame in order to fully open the knife frame.

– The blades are located outside the guide of the knife frame. (Fig. 13, 14)

16 Closing knife frame

Attention!

If the knife frame is fully open, make sure that the cutting knives do not bottom against the rotor tines during closing! Machine damage by collision of machine parts. – Close the knife frame carefully and slowly.

• Closing knife frame. Push the button (S4) above the knife frame.

– Press the button until fan noise can no longer be heard. Actuate the “Soft Key”

– in order to close the knife frame completely. Symbol disappears in the status bar when the knife frame is fully closed. (Fig. 15, 16)
