The neutral detection sensor is used to detect the neutral position of the transmission. Auto Start Stop can only be activated when no gear is engaged.
1 Sensor magnet fitted in the cover: The sensor magnet scans the Hall element. The change in the magnetic field lines is detected through the shift cover. 2 Sensor magnet visible: The sensor magnet is permanently 3_28_11
moulded onto the locking lever. This means there can be no change in its position over its service life. 3 Neutral detection sensor
The change in the direction of the magnetic field is detected by way of a Hall-effect sensor. The electronics integrated in the sensor convert the detected signal into a pulse-width-modulated (PWM) signal and output it to the engine control module.
