3c.6 Controlled rear differential lock (CRDL)

Unlike the previous models, in which only one locking differential was available to additionally support the driving dynamics, Porsche Torque Vectoring/Plus (PTV/PTV Plus) now provides a much improved product feature for all transmission variants.

The 911 Carrera S is equipped with PTV/PTV Plus as standard. PTV/PTV Plus is available as an option for the 911 Carrera. PTV features a locking differential with asymmetrical locking action (22% traction and 27% deceleration) and is available in conjunction with the standard 7-speed manual transmission.

PTV Plus features a fully variable electronic rear differential lock and is only available in conjunction with the Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK).

Depending on the pressure applied in the pressure duct (8), the thrust washer (2) is pressed onto the the disc pack (9) by the cup spring (6) via the eight pressure pins and in this way achieve a locking value dependent on the pressure. This value is absolutely variable from 0 to 100%.
