8.6 Topology of the air-conditioning system

The control unit of the air-conditioning system (Operating and Air-Conditioning Unit) communicates with other control units via CANMMI and with external devices and sensors via the LIN bus. The blower and flaps on the heater as well as the air quality sensor on the air intake tube housing are activated via the LIN bus.

The air-conditioning compressor is activated directly via a PWM (pulse width modulation) signal and is therefore not included in the topology.
