The PL Duffy Library Resource Centre Year 8 Book Club At the beginning of the year Bindy Hammond began a Year 8 Book Club that met every fortnight at recess. The boys shared a delicious morning tea provided by Mrs Hammond and then discussed the books they had read over the two weeks. The club became very popular, starting with four students and increased to 20 by the end of the year – an impressive and sustained reading effort from all the participants.
Usage of Library and Library Resources In 2013 an average of 30 classes per week, booked into the Library for Reading sessions, research and general class work. There have been a total of 210 research sessions and 277 reading sessions booked this year. A total of 183 print items (fiction and non-fiction) per week were borrowed. Our eBooks and eAudiobooks have been heavily borrowed since the BorrowBox launch date in July 2013 until November 2013, with a total of 222 users in the Junior School and Senior School.
