Roll Call

The Parent Council continued its endeavours in creating community spirit within the Trinity community, a task made easier by the willingness of so many parents and staff to assist when it’s time for the work to be done.

This year Parent Council again hosted the Annual Parent Ball, with Gibney Hall transformed into the world of The Great Gatsby by the hardworking Year 12 parents. We also held our Annual Sundowner to welcome parents, both new and old, to the new school year. The evening was well attended and a great success. We held a Sundowner for Year 7 parents to welcome them to Trinity College and this was another successful evening.

Later in the year the Parent Council hosted a seminar for parents with guest speaker Jade Lewis addressing 500 parents in Gibney Hall. In a truly interesting and informative address, Jade gave parents an insight into the signs of drug and alcohol addiction and outlined effective strategies for coping with these issues. I was privileged to take over the role of Chairman in July and thank retiring Chairman Mal Harris for his hard work and devotion in the role over the past three years. We welcomed new member Beverly Martinez to the Parent Council Committee and extend a heartfelt thank you to outgoing member Julie Fazey. All of these parents truly embody the TC Spirit and we thank them for their service to our community.

It is truly a wonderful experience to be a part of the thriving TC community, and I thank all members of the Parent Council for their support and contribution to a school that continues to flourish.
