Mrs Martina Stroud President College Auxiliary
s the 2008 school year draws to a close, I am amazed at the number of functions and events the College Auxiliary has supported. The College calendar of events is certainly a very full one and it is without doubt that the College Auxiliary has been instrumental in contributing to a great sense of community amongst the parents of Trinity College.
This year we took on some new initiatives. To encourage new members, an introductory letter outlining the role of the Auxiliary was posted out to each family and asking for assistance if possible. The response was fantastic and we can now call on members of the College community to help with the various College functions. We also enlisted the help of the students from the Senior Enterprise Program. Under the supervision of Mr Peter Duckett the students designed and produced all the flyers and tickets for our social events, Morning Tea with author Liz Byrski, Autumn in the Valley, and The Melbourne Cup Luncheon. I would like to thank the students for producing very professional publications and also Mr Duckett for his help in organising this initiative.

All of our social events have been very well supported and the response from the many parents and friends who have attended has been very positive and most encouraging. Of course the many official College functions and social events would not be possible without the dedication and hard work of the Auxiliary members. Thank you for your generosity, energy and enthusiasm. Thanks also to the College staff and the grounds staff for their co-operation in helping us to support the various College functions. I would also like to thank Mr Ivan Banks our Principal, for being so supportive of the College Auxiliary and look forward to once again welcoming him to our monthly meetings in 2009. A special “thank you” to my committee: Sharon Maher, Lee Loughnan, Kathryn Taggart, Annemarie Harris, Mary Greenshields and Sally Johns, for your enormous contribution and support. It has been a pleasure to work with you. Finally to the Auxiliary members who are leaving us this year, Marilyn Harries and Lida Ostle, thank you for your dedication and willingness to help. I am particularly grateful for the fun and friendship we have shared over the years. I wish you and your families the best of health and happiness for the future. College Auxiliary meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at 9.00am in the College Boardroom, Gibney Hall. Please come and join us. Mrs Martina Stroud President Trinity College Auxiliary
