Student Roll Call

For the last eighteen months, nine students have been preparing for the ninth Trinity Pilgrimage Through India 2008 with weekly meetings on Fridays and a three day retreat during the spring holidays. The preparation came to a conclusion with the Commissioning Mass in the Trinity Chapel on Saturday, 22 November. During the Mass, former India Pilgrims (now Trinity Old Boys) came forward and placed their hands on the shoulders of the new pilgrims as they received their Mission crosses; this was their commissioning to go forward to carry on the sacred work of serving and embracing the people of India.

The following day the students and three staff members set out on the first part of the Pilgrimage, flying to Chennai. After all the preparation they were looking forward to spending time with the multiple handicapped children at MITHRA, Chennai, the indigenous people in Mandal, Gujarat State and at various centres run by Mother Teresa’s sisters in Kolkata.

They went inspired by the generosity and support of families and friends and the challenge of being “Men for Others”.
