Year Five Blue Year 5

F

or me 2008 has been an excellent school year. In 5 Blue with Miss Totaro we have learnt some interesting things and had lots of fun too. I have thoroughly enjoyed being a new student at Trinity College. In reflection, I really didn’t know what to Miss Natalie Totaro expect but I enjoyed camp Year 5 Blue at Forest Edge (especially the big fox and the mud fight trek). That set the tone for an excellent and BUSY year ahead! My favourite subjects this year were Maths, English, Science and Technology and Enterprise. We made catapults and pinball machines. Year 5 has been a special year for me and I have learnt so much. I can’t wait for another exciting year next year as we’ll be the first Year 6’s to lead Trinity Junior School. Alex Gordon

Term 1 Waroona Camp Poem Waroona Camp was heaps of fun; I thought it was the best. And judging from what I’ve heard, it was also fun for the rest. There was rock climbing, abseiling and a very big walk! It was even fun just to sit with new friends and talk. We had mixed emotions at first about the HUGE flying fox. Until we went faster and higher than the mighty Dean Cox!

There was the challenge of raft building and good fun at canoeing. We loved it so much we didn’t care what we were doing! As camp day three dawned, we saw the end to our fun, But I admit I missed my home, my own bed and my Mum! Adam Bartlett

Term 2 Term 2 was super busy and went very quickly. The highlight during Term 2 was our trip to AQWA in Hillarys to learn about ecosystems. We saw some very colourful fish and some super scary sharks! Everyone had a great day. Unfortunately, we finished off Term 2 with some very sad news. Father Mac passed away. We remember Father Mac for his enjoyable Masses, great sense of humour and his courage and kindness. Lewis Parsons and Ben Ulrich

Term 3 Term 3 was so busy, but really fun. We had our Sports carnival, Fathers’ Day Breakfast, Assembly, portfolios… and the list goes on! We also went to the World of Energy and learnt some crazy scientific facts! Our class topic was about the strange and wonderful lives of the Ancient Greeks. In class we made catapults and levers – two very important Greek inventions. For our Assembly I got to play King Midas who turned everything he touched into gold. It was fun playing a greedy king! Teachers always say Term 3 is the busiest term. This term was certainly no exception! Jack Perry
