Italian Viaggi in Italia had heard so much about the beauty and peacefulIness about the Italian culture and about Italy itself, and I could not wait to go and see it for myself. I visited from 4th July to the 29th July and it was the best trip of my life. I went to Rome, Benevento, Jean-Mark Rousseau Assisi and Tivoli and I saw all Italian of the famous landmarks of Rome: The Colosseum, Saint Peters Square, the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and the castle of Saint Angelo. I also tasted some of the best food in the world only made by Italians, Ice creams (Gelati) and Italian sweets (Dolci). This trip has changed my life and I cant wait to go back!! Jeremy Ricciardi

003 has been a very active year for the Italian dept. 2 Three Year Eleven students travelled to Italy coming back much enriched with vocabulary and other cultural assets. On the social scene, the dinner at Rigoletto with the girls from Mercedes College was the highlight of Year Eleven. The traditional lunch at Caffe Amaretto for the Year Nines was also another success. With the help of Mrs Ciancotti, the Year Eights spent a day at the Tuscan club and were enriched with cultural aspects of the region. ICT has also played a central role in the academic aspect of the course, providing students with very rich information for their projects. Jean-Mark Rousseau Italian

attitude of the students of Indonesian. These students experienced an array of activities, functions and opportunities to practise their Indonesian language skills and develop a better understanding of the Indonesian people, their culture and religion.
This year we commenced the first TAFE combined TEE course in the school. The Year Eleven Indonesian language students have the opportunity to study Indonesian at both TAFE and TEE levels, so they will earn a certified TAFE certificate as well as a Secondary Graduation Certificate from Curriculum Council in Indonesian. At the beginning of Term One on March 12th, the Year Eleven and Twelve Indonesian Students enjoyed a mouth-watering delicious taste of Indonesian Cuisine at Denpasar Moon in Northbridge. The smell of the chicken satay and nasi goreng and more was enough to make anyone want to try it all. At the end of the
evening, the students were able to sample delicious, unique tropical drinks like ‘escendo’ (brightly coloured coconut milk and palm sugar,) The students were complemented on their outstanding behaviour and use of Indonesian language – a real night to remember !! In Term Two, on May 28th, the Year Seven and Ten Indonesian students visited the Perth Zoo to study the Indonesian Rainforest Animals Trail. The students had the opportunity to walk through a typical rainforest and witness rainforest animals that now have become endangered species. On November 10 in Term Four the Year Tens visited the Sparrow’s Indonesian Restaurant in Northbridge. The students thoroughly enjoyed a lunch of traditional and exquisite-tasting delicacies such as nasi goreng, mie horeng and ayam goreng all served with traditional Indonesian vegetables. It was a fantastic day and a wonderful tasting experience for the whole class. It was a pleasure to teach all the students and I will miss them all. My best wishes to my Year Twelve students who worked diligently this year.
