Mr Murray McKenna Acting Deputy Head of the rules and regulations in place to facilitate the Secondary School learning journey are more(Administration) akin to a jail rather than a caring educational environment. Trinity College is fortunate to have a very professional and giving staff who constantly work to ensure that the students are given every opportunity to develop their potential in a broad cross section of spiritual, academic, cultural and sporting pursuits. In the area of pastoral care, whilst every staff member has a crucial role, it is the Heads of Year in particular who work closely with students on a very individual basis. The College owes a significant debt of gratitude for this to Mr. Rob Armitage (8), Mr. John Montagu (9), Mr. Peter Hawke (10), Mr. Barry McKenna (11) and Mrs. Eileen Lane (12) Trinity College has benefited from the work of a very dedicated Counsellor, Mr. Brad Nugent, and a Chaplain, Fr Michael McMahon, who have constantly demonstrated a willingness to go the ‘extra kilometre’ to help a student experiencing difficulties. The Special Education Unit, guided by the effervescent Mrs Sue Prior and her energetic team, has consistently shown itself to be always operating in the best interests of those in its care. The Campus Ministry Office, capably organised by Br Rob Callen, has continued its work of catering for the spiritual needs of students across all year groups and delivered very meaningful retreat and service experiences the quality of which are recognized across Australia. Mrs Marya Stewart’s efforts with respect to the ever-increasing range of service opportunities deserve commendation. The College community’s faith was tested in 2003 with the death of a courageous year eleven student Matthew Williamson and students, staff and parents rallied magnificently in a collective show of spirit, which has come to represent all that is praiseworthy about the College under the decade-long stewardship of Mr Tony Curtis. The Year 2003 will witness the end of Mr Tony Curtis’ visionary leadership at the helm of the College. We congratulate Mr Curtis for the numerous betterments he has delivered to the College, the underpinning of which has always been to provide an environment and educational climate for the wellbeing of all students. In my role as Deputy Principal Administration, I wish to thank all staff for their professionalism and especially the outstanding contribution of Mr Rob Marshall as Head of Secondary. To the office staff and in particular Mrs Teresa Greenfield, thank you for your unceasing administrative support without which the College processes would quickly grind to a halt. Toall the ground staff thank you for maintaining the physical environment of the College at such a high level and continuing to deliver improvements to the College environs. Finally and most importantly, thank you to the students for their many and varied efforts over the year to enhance the College’s fine reputation and to the parents for their help in numerous activities for the benefit of their sons and the College.
