Route Management Manual Training Routes
Programming Intersection Zones To successfully program an Intersection Zone, use the instructions for Adding Zones and keep the following in mind: • During route training, all Intersection Zones must be trained for all possible pathways (entrances and exits) through the intersection. •
Avoid giving multiple intersections the same identification number during training. Automated vehicles in any of the intersections are prohibited from entering if an automated vehicle is present in any other intersection with the same identification number
•
Make sure to program the Start Zone before any part of the vehicle enters the intersection area.
•
Make sure the entire truck (or tow tractor with maximum number of carts) has cleared the intersection before programming the End Zone.
Adding Ramps Each truck is labeled for use with a maximum grade capability. Add a Ramp feature if a route includes a ramp. NOTE: This feature is not required if the ramp grade is 2% or less. Ramp grade is defined as vertical rise divided by horizontal length, multiplied by 100, and stated as a percent. Vertical Rise
Horizontal Length
NOTE: “Set Cart Train Length” must be used when training a ramp zone with a tow tractor and carts. Always train with the maximum number of carts (maximum length). To Set Cart Train Length: 1. Select “7. Set Cart Train Length” from the “Training and Service” screen.
