Multiple Automated Trucks on Intersecting Paths

If two automated trucks approach an intersection simultaneously they may both come to a stop, forming an accumulation point.

It is best practice to minimize intersecting paths of automated trucks. When intersecting paths are unavoidable, use the Slow Travel Behavior (see page22) to set the maximum speed to no more than 2.4 mph (1.1 m/s) as part of the merging segment. Should two trucks with intersecting paths encounter one another, this will make sure both trucks are able to navigate without contact through the intersection.

Managing multiple automated trucks wi th intersecting paths is simplified when the Server Software (Supervisor) option is used. Refer to "Intersection Zone" on page23 and "Adding Zones" on page79
