Route Management Manual The Truck
Ramp Zone Program a Ramp Zone when the truck is trained to use ramps in the facility. Each truck is labeled with it’s maximum grade capability. NOTE: If training a route with a drop behavior before a ramp, check to make sure the forks will not contact the ramp in the fully lowered position. The truck travels with the forks raised prior to a drop behavior; however, the forks do not return to the raised position after a drop behavior. NOTE: “Set Cart Train Length” must be used when training a ramp zone with a tow tractor and carts. This determines the exit point for the ramp zone once the cart train has completely cleared the ramp. Always train with the maximum number of carts (maximum length). When a Ramp Zone is programmed, the automated truck’s light curtain profile is adjusted for the inclined floor (when traveling up a ramp) or declined floor (when traveling down a ramp). This allows the truck to begin traveling up or down a ramp without the sensors falsely detecting the change in grade as an obstruction. It is very important to follow the instructions for programming ramp behaviors. For detailed instructions for programming ramp behaviors, see “Adding Ramps” on page 80. Programming a Ramp feature requires the following input: • •
Ramp direction (up or down) Ramp grade
•
Ramp exit position
Uneven Floor Zone When an Uneven Floor Zone is programmed, the automated truck’s light curtain profile is adjusted to travel over pitted or non-level floor surfaces. When the automated truck enters an Uneven Floor Zone, the light curtain is automatically adjusted up or down the amount programmed during training. This allows the truck to travel without the sensors falsely detecting the change in floor surface as an obstruction, see “Adding an Uneven Floor Zone” on page 84.
