Route Management Manual To Use the Training Tool

To get the lasers square during setup: 1. Position the Raymond Courier so it is perfectly parallel to a straight line on the floor, or expansion joint. Use a tape measure to measure the side of the truck to the line at two points to make sure it is perfectly square. 2. Measuring from the outer edge of the bumper, place one mark on the floor the exact distance shown in the appropriate drawing shown below. For example, if you are setting up the a 3010 with normal stop fields, the mark should be 31” perpendicular from the bumper for the hazard zone clearance. 3. Measure the distance from this mark to the straight line or expansion joint. 4. Place a second mark on the floor about 48” in front of the truck, the exact distance measured between the first mark and the line or expansion joint. This second mark should be measured from the line or expansion joint as well. You should now have two marks which are in line with each other, and parallel to the truck. 5. Mount one laser on the side of the Raymond Courier bumper, as shown in the picture above. TIP:

Set the lasers up so there is enough room to remove the battery if needed during training. This allows you change batteries without having to re-align the lasers.

6. Turn on the laser, and align to the marks on the floor. The lasers can be adjusted by loosening the clamp, and rotating the laser. TIP:

Set the lasers up so the beam is the strongest in front of the vehicle, where the line crosses the front “stop field laser”. Having the beams as visible as possible where it meets the forward facing beam, will make it easier to see, especially during turns.

7. Tighten the clamp. 8. Repeat with a second laser on the same side to set the stop field locations. For example, if you are setting up the a 3010 with normal stop fields, the mark should be 23” perpendicular from the bumper on one side, for the stop field. 9. Place a second mark on the floor about 48” in front of the truck, the exact distance measured between the first mark and the line or expansion joint. This second mark should be measured from the line or expansion joint as well. You should now have two marks which are in line with each other, and parallel to the truck.
