Route Management Manual Verifying Routes

Verifying Routes If Supervisor is used, make sure the routes are loaded and rules are programmed. During route verification, make sure all interactions related to Supervisor are working correctly. The final step in training the automated truck is to verify the automated truck will follow the routes and execute the Behaviors that you have just trained. Perform verification for each trained route, including all potential route segments, such as parallel routes and siding drop-off segments. To verify routes, walk behind the truck to observe the truck as it negotiates the assigned routes. When training multiple and/or complex routes, a review of the Nodal Map should be done before sending the truck on any routes. A Nodal Map shows all the routes and how they are connected to each other. Compare this diagram to the actual facility layout to see if any paths are missing or incorrectly trained. After using the Nodal Map to confirm the paths were trained as intended, position the truck at the Start Station of a new route. Navigate to the “Choose Route” screen. Enter the Start Station in the “From Station:” field, a Drop-Off and/or Way Station location (optional), and the End Station in the “To Station:” field. Press the Enter Key. The “Start Route” screen is displayed, as shown in Figure 60. Wait for the green Start Button to light; press the green Start Button and back away from the truck. The truck will raise the forks (Model 3010 only), sound the horn, and begin to travel along the route. Verify the truck with all of the following variations: • the largest dimensional load (widest and/or tallest) it is anticipated to carry or pull on the route • •

the lightest load it is anticipated to carry or pull on the route pallets with the smallest pallet opening

For Model 3020, the load should include the maximum number and specific type(s) of carts that the truck will pull.
