he Year 8 students celebrated Pasqua by tasting the Colomba cake and Natale by sharing the Panettone. Buon Appetito! The highlight of the Year 9 cultural experience was the traditional lunch held at Caffé Amaretto. My sincere thanks go to Mrs Casella, the mother of Adam, for organising the most beautiful pranzo.
The students had the opportunity to put into practice their speaking skills when ordering from the waitresses. The Year 10s and 11s will be recorded in the Italian “archives” as creating history by being the first groups to start the new Courses of Study in 2008. The Year 10s will undertake Stage 1 and the Year 11s Stage 2.
The Year 11s hosted two guest chefs at the College to cook some Italian pasta as part of their program. Our sincere thanks go to Lisa and John Calabro, Joe’s parents, who made this event possible. I would also like to thank Lisa for helping out with the oral examinations for Year 11 and 12. My best wishes go to the Year 12 students: Buona fortuna per il futuro.

F
rom 31st March to 30th April, a combined group of eleven students and two teachers from Trinity College and All Saints College set off to Italy on a language tour of a lifetime. Attending Centro Linguistico Italiano Dante Alighieri for three weeks expanded our Italian beyond measure. Living with Italian host families and enjoying many day trips in and around Florence helped us to absorb all the culture, food and fun of the country. During the final week of our trip we stayed in hotels in Venice and Rome where we saw all the wonders of the ancient cities. These wonderful experiences will remain with us for ever and we would highly recommend this trip to students who have the opportunity to go.
