Year 7
Mr Tony Maxfield
Year 7 Blue Tradition; an Edmund Rice College. Running, Jumping, Sprinting are the things I do at the sport carnival. Inter-school carnivals and lightning carnivals were fun. Now and always; “Young Men for Others” In the junior triathlon Trinity won the plaque for the most points. Trains, buses, cars, bikes are all the ways we get to Trinity You will always find us “In Nomine Domini” in the name of the Lord.

“Mr & Masters 7 Blue 2007”
The “Little guy” Jamie Andrawes is first on our list, Followed by Oskar Arnold the “Movie star” at number two. Then the “Performer” Marcus Callus-Gannon is always hard to resist. These first three of 7 Blue I will certainly miss.
Wilfred Cheung “the Professor” comes in at four, Connor Cribben “the Comedian” is next in the door. Matthew Davies “the Sports star” is at six! These three I must say make an unusual mix.
Then it’s James Dawson “the Doc”, with his PHD, Jordan De Leo a “Jet of a lad” and would never lie to me. Robbie di Giovanni always “Bright and Sincere”, Patrick Di Nardo “Mr Showman and chatter”can be a pain in the EAR!
Michael Duan “Mr Neatness” has talent to burn, Nick Erskine,“Mr Practical” is always first to help out and quick to learn. Then of course comes Mac! That’s Mackenzie Fairchild to you! He feels that “Animals” should not be in Zoos!
Aidan Hobbs “Mr Fairness” cares for others and always smiles. Followed by “Mr Marathon” Oliver Hopkins who can run for miles. Eliott Iustini an “Eagles fan” in flight is always well mannered and very polite. Then it’s Louis the Jago with his great zest for life, He burns so brightly he can light up the night!
Beware of “BIG” Thomas of the Kopaczewskyj type, Dobby his nickname thinks he’s always right! Another Matthew, this one from the Locantro file, Our assembly a hit thanks to his “Mr Magic style.” Then comes Jayden of the Marciano clan, At solving science and technology he is “The Man!”
I’d finish this poem and read it to the class, A little hand went up and when I asked, Marc Mather told me the poem was a bit stout! I enquired as to why he felt, he simply said, “You missed me out!” My mistake, and thanks for the clue, Yes Marc was part of Year 7 Blue too!
John – Paul Mondelo legend “Mr School and Performing Arts,” At the end of Year 7 he will surely pass. Then Harley Orr “Mr Great all-rounder,” With a glint in his eye big hearted double pounder. Adrian Pizzata is our Head Boy, “Mr serious” we call him then he gets annoyed. Michael Potts, Great Spirit and is “Mr Campion King,” Henry Prior, “Mr Legend” at all but wishes Chanel would win. Laurent Shervington “Mr Soccer Star” when he is rich from soccer, Will buy his old teacher a HSV new car? Matthew Tallon like Connor is a “Mr Humorous Bloke,” Quick with his wit and loves to joke. Ashley Teo “Mr Talent” with Science and Solar Boat design, His solar vessel was one of the first to the line. “Mr Mad Scientist” is Luke Warlik, Team Grandad and Luke are always Slick! Another Wellstead “Oh No!”….. but “Mr Taylor’s” O.K. The only boy who loses sports clothes three times in one day! “Mr Artist and Funny man” is Adam Whitworth, Like Benny Hill he is the “Master of Mirth!” Last on the list but certainly not least, Brandon Willington “Mr War and Peace.” Brandon has many talents too and has been cruising on the Queen Mary II. We’ve done many things too many to share, A motley crew who always care. 7 Blue for us has been a great voyage and trip, With Captain Mr Maxfield at the helm of our ship! They’re not a bad lot; sure could have been worse, But the page is full, time to end this verse.

Mr Tony Maxfield 7 Blue Teacher 2007

Thirty three boys and two teachers were in 7 Green this year, Mr Bell was our class teacher and Mr Chitty was with us on Fridays.
Term 1
We began first term by being allocated a peer from 4 Blue. It was a lot of fun working Mr Gavin Bell Year 7 Green with our peers. We showed them around the school, got to know them, created a comic strip and did a lot of work together on bullying. A highlight of the Peer Mentor Program was our excursion to Hyde Park. Our class work in Term 1 focused on Australian settlement, Australian History and Aboriginal Culture. We spent time investigating and researching the First Fleet, James Cook and the Stolen Generation. Not only did we learn more about each other in first term, we learnt about Australia’s past.
Term 2
A major focus of Term 2 was preparing for Confirmation. We attended a Home Program and were lucky enough to have Mr Dean organise a fantastic retreat to Dwellingup. Many parents attended the retreat to ensure that it was successful. The Confirmation evening was a wonderful experience, Father Mac led a very special service.
In class we did a wide variety of work which included building and using a solar oven, learning resuscitation and studying World War II. As we prepared for our trip to Canberra, we also investigated the workings of Parliament and the tourist attractions of our Nation’s capital. The Canberra Tour was an amazing experience. Although some boys were sick, we had a terrific time visiting Sydney, Parliament House, The War Memorial, Questacon, and our day trip to the snow. Special thanks to Miss Raguseo, Mr Hamer, Mr Chitty and those parents who attended the trip with us.
Term 3
Term 3 always has many sporting commitments to keep us busy. We had interschool fixtures, a lightning carnival, cross country and the athletics carnival. We also had a lot of work to do. When we had completed our WALNA and R.E testing we got busy working on our topics of Global Warming and Ancient Egypt. We used the documentary An Inconvenient Truth as our focus for Science. Our Ancient Egypt culminated in an excursion to the Art Gallery to view the Louvre’s Egyptian Antiquities. While we were in the city we also visited the WA Museum to see the Australia’s National Treasures Exhibition. We were also lucky enough to prepare the Reconciliation Mass for our Year 4s Holy Communion.
Third term always finishes with the very popular “Big Walk”, which again was a great day.
Term 4
During Term 4 we prepared for our final weeks in the Junior School. Miss Bott organised our assembly item and Concert Night act. We also had Graduation and the School Fair.
In class we built mouse trap cars, studied Japan, and continued our work with the year 4s.
We would like to thank everyone for their help during our time in the Junior School.
