Waterpolo

With the departure of Mr Charlie Liggins to Hale School, an Old Boy, Mr Anthony Matkovich, took over as Coach of the Trinity 1st VII Waterpolo.

Having a Trinity Old Boy coach the side is an experience this year’s waterpolo team will never forget. I do hope that this generation of Trinity boys will have the chance to meet an older generation Trinity boy. The intensity of spirit and compassion I hope will be carried on by all Trinity boys into the future.

Winning only one game (against Guildford) I must commend the team members for never giving up throughout the season through loss after loss. This result does not indicate how well the team played throughout the season, losing all of our games by 2 goals, even against the top team, with the second top team losing to the top team by 9 goals; I believe this reflects our true result.

The 2nd and 3rd Waterpolo players had a varied season with some excellent wins but also some games that would best be forgotten. Excellent team spirit prevailed.

Well done to all the players, to Coach Mr Anthony Matkovich and to Brenton Bush who, as Captain, displayed a maturity well above his years.
