Auxiliary Section How to Remove the Auxiliary Section With Tapered Bearings Special Instructions There can be different capscrew lengths, note their location. Auxiliary sections can be removed either with the transmission in the horizontal position or the vertical position. Auxiliary countershaft retaining straps may be installed to hold the countershafts in place. Auxiliary can be removed without straps, use caution.

A steel bar longer than the width of the output yoke for vertical removal

A hoist with a lifting chain

Procedure - To remove the auxiliary section in the horizontal position. 1.
Remove the four (4) capscrews and the auxiliary countershaft rear bearing cover, gasket, and rear bearing shim.
2.
Install the auxiliary countershaft retaining straps with 2-3/8" NC x 1" and 1-3/8" NC x 2-1/2" clean cap-screws. WARNING: Do not use an air gun. Tighten by hand until the capscrews are snug.
