How to Disassemble the Countershaft Assembly

Special Instructions

Never use the PTO gear as a pressing base. The narrow width of this gear can cause breakage.

Special Tools

• Snap Ring pliers • Press

Procedure -

1. From each countershaft front remove the drive gear retaining snap ring.

2. Using the rear face of 3rd speed gear as a base, press the drive gear, PTO gear, and 3rd speed gear from each countershaft. This removes the front bearing inner race.

3. Inspect the key and roll pin, remove if damaged.
