Addressing the following issues:
TRAFFIC CALMING In an attempt to improve pedestrian and cycle connectivity, East India Dock Road will be traffic calmed with more space allocated to pedestrians and cyclists. The traffic calming strategy will promote socio-environmental sustainability by decreasing space allocated for vehicle use and increasing space for pedestrians and cyclists. Sustainable
transport modes must be prioritised on principle routes through Poplar in order to meet urgent issues related to socio-environmental sustainability. East-West connectivity will be improved for pedestrians and cyclists as well as improved crossing points across the roadway, allowing for greater ease and use for non-vehicular modes of transport.
