IMPROVING CONNECTIVITY

Following the introduction of the masterplan, a number of urban design interventions will be introduced to champion Poplar’s place making agenda.

Interventions will be introduced from macro to micro in scale. This order has been chosen because it illustrates how interventions will operate from area wide to specific plots of land. The interventions are guided by the framework’s strategic principles:

Showcasing Identity Community Ownership Socio - Environmental Sustainability Improving Connectivity Interventions addressing particular strategic principles will be illustrated through icons displayed in the introductions of each intervention.

The introduction of interventions, guided by the framework’s strategic principles, aims to address key issues facing Poplar. These issues include a fractured local economy, housing and climate change. Finally, correlating the frameworks interventions with the strategic principles will illustrate how each intervention is multifaceted in addressing multiple strategic principles.
