Trinity Old Boys’ Association TOBA

key factor will be the appointment of an Administration Manager to ensure that the planned activities are successfully planned and implemented. The Executive Committee believes that a strong Association will enable effective support for the College. I congratulate the College on the completion of the Remembrance Wall. Eventually the Wall will display the names of all Old Boys from each year group on a brass plaque. Mr Les Conceicao TOBA President

O

n behalf of the Members of the Association, I would like to commence by thanking the Members of the Executive Committee for their efforts over the past year. In particular, I thank the hard work by Mike Jansen who has resigned from his position of Treasurer. Mike has ably undertaken this difficult role over the past five years. We also thank Rob Marshall who has left the Committee to take up his new role with Chisholm College. The Committee will also miss his role as a highly effective College Liaison officer. We welcome Michael Cassidy into the role of Treasurer. The Association has successfully held a Golf Day in April with over forty Old Boys playing in the tournament for the Taggart Family Cup. The Trinity Sunday Mass in the College Chapel was also successful and it was good to see a number of members of the Trinity community attend this Mass as well as Old Boys. The Old Boys Sports Day was very successful with a large number of Old Boys participating in football, hockey, rugby, soccer and cross-country. Congratulations to the students in winning the Brendan Ryan Cup. Brendan honoured us with his attendance. He continues to inspire all those who meet him with his sustained courage and determination. On behalf of the Members, I would like take this opportunity to congratulate the Trinity Old Boys who represented Australia on the 2004 Athens Olympics: John Steffensen (Athletics – Silver Medal), Antony Matkovich (Swimming – Silver Medal), Ben Cureton (Rowing – Silver Medal), Stefan Szczurowski (Rowing – Bronze Medal), Travis Nederpelt (Swimming) and Jeremy McCLure (Paralympics). Finally, the Executive Committee is formulating a strategic plan to clarify its role and ascertain how it can best serve the future interests of the Association’s Members and the College. A key aspect of the plan will be a stronger focus on activities that benefit the Members of the Association such as business lunches and a structured approach to arranging functions such as class reunions.

We need to ensure that logistical factors (such as Member contact lists) are continuously updated and maintained for such activities to be successful. Another

Together with the Members of the Executive Committee, I look forward to an exciting period in the development of the Association over the next few years. Les Conceicao President
