Year 4

Year 4s got off to a good start with the Peer Mentor Programme organized by Mr. Maxfield and Mr. Chitty. As usual, they did a wonderful job with the varied activities they ran to make the new boys feel welcome and safe at Trinity.

Mr Gordon Dean We had a great year whichYear 4 Blue included excursions to the zoo and to the Schoenstatt Shrine in Armadale. Our special thanks to Miss Raguseo for preparing the boys to receive their First Holy Communion. The year can best be summed up by a few responses from the boys.

A Word from the Boys.

Ienjoyed many things at Trinity such as the Sports Carnival, swimming and the teachers. I also liked the Peer Mentor Programme.

Oliver Hopkins.

When I started in 4 Blue, I made lots of friends. I met Matthew and Jordan and they are good friends. Henry is also very funny. Now I enjoy Trinity College.

Patrick Di Nardo

My favourite thing at Trinity is the support by the children and teachers. I like the huge oval, the pool and all the fairs and competitions. I also made it into the choral group and Saint Mary’s Cathedral Choir. I think that Trinity is the best school in Australia.

Stephen Pope.

When I started in Blue I made many friends and my spelling improved as well as my sport and reading. I had a great teacher.

My favourite subject in school is swimming because it improves by the second and I like Trinity because the teachers are nice.

Term One by Jaryd Blakiston

Iwas a nervous going to school on my first day, but I was also excited, because I had been looking forward to coming here for four years. Ms T and Ms Boe were both so nice to us and that made me feel good inside. We did swimming trials at Somerset Pool to prepare for our carnival at Beatty Park. My friend, Jayden, was the best swimmer of all Year 4s and 5s. I had a lot of fun on that day and did a pretty good job in my races. Our first excursion was to the Perth Zoo with both Year 4 classes. Our class performed a play of ‘The Last Supper’ at the Holy Week assembly. I did the welcome and then Oskar narrated the rest of the class item. I thought our class effort was the best.

I love being at Trinity.

Term Two by Daniel Richards

At the start of Term Two, Connor Cribben, Matthew Dixon and Blair Stroud made their First Reconciliation. This special Sacrament was celebrated after the Year 4 Green Mass and it was a memorable occasion for those boys and their parents. Year 4s participated in three Sport Carnivals. We played rugby against Aquinas, Christchurch and Hale. It was a wet and muddy day, but we still had heaps of fun. One of the last events of Term Two was the Year 4 visit to the Shoenstatt Shrine in Armadale. We made our Holy Communion candles with Sister Lisette. We made pictures of wheat, water, a cross and grapes and stuck these to our candles. The final event was the sad departure of Ms Boe who was leaving us for Long Service Leave. We had another wonderful term.

Term Three by Jeremy Ryan

The term started with a new teacher, Mrs Savory, because Ms Boe was on Long Service Leave. We won the fun Soccer carnival against Aquinas. My Mum and Dad came to watch which made the day even more special. We made our First Holy Communion on the 20th September. We carried the candles in the Procession made at the shrine. It was fantastic!

In Term Three, I participated in B.I.G, Boys in Groove, a dance group with boys from Year 4 to 7. We performed at the Burswood Theatre and we were amazing! Ms T said that she was so impressed and Ms Bott was so thrilled with our performance that she could not stop smiling. The athletics programme began with a very exhausting cross country. The Year 4s ran two kilometres to East Perth. Congratulations to Adam Norman who came first.

Term Four by Matthew Davies

In Term Four, we will be preparing for the Concert and Presentation evening. I want to thank Ms Tesoriero, Ms Boe, Ms Savory, Mr Hamer and Mr Chitty for really giving us the best first Year at Trinity College. I am looking forward to Year 5 and am sure I will have great teachers once again.
