Year 6
Term One
I liked the Wednesday sport training and playing against other schools. I wrote about Paul Jennings and his fantastic books on lots of funny subjects in our exciting new Society and Environment project called ‘My Australian Identity’.
Mrs Janelle Kelly The Swimming Carnival was Year 6 Blue fantastic. It was a very nice day with everybody having fun in the sun. Thanks for everything Mrs K.!
Harrison Massey
‘My Australian Identity’ was Steve Waugh and his courageous retirement from cricket. I’ve learned that when you learn from your mistakes you improve. I chose St Benedict for my first oral presentation because he is the parton saint of engineering and that’s what I want to be when I grow up.
Julian Rodino
Before the year started I thought that the teacher would be about 40 and the she’d be easygoing, that all changed the first day of school.
Luke Dannolfo
On the first day of Term One was so nervous that a shiver ran down my spine.
Jarrod Smity
I found out what Mrs Kelly was like. She loves fitness and exercise and she’s very strict with all class work, but she is still very nice and she is the youngest teacher I’ve ever seen.
Alex Guglielmino
Term Two
I played soccer and most of my matches were on the ‘B’ team. In the middle of the term our class presented a play for our assembly about smoking and the effects it has on us. My part was that of a child who didn’t smoke and tried to make smokers quit. I think it was one of the best plays I had ever been in! Our class held a ‘farewell’ party for my best friend, Kieran, who was leaving to live in Malaysia. When the last assembly of the term was held the Golden Honour cards were given out and I got one!!
Adrian Petersen.
I fell and broke my arm. It hurt a lot. I loved riding in the ambulance but disappointed they didn’t drive fast!
William Righton
During the term we found out that Mr Hamer was moving to Shanghai and that Kieran Stenson was going to Malaysia to live, so we decided to have a party!”
Damian Dinelli
Term Three
Term Three was a very busy term with portfolios and cross- country. We learnt about fractions, decimals, area and perimeter of a circle using diameter and radius. I found it very interesting and helpful. We also had the performing arts festival when all the schools around Perth, come together to share their musical gifts. I did my Olympic controversy project on drug testing. I think I had the best term ever!
Alex Bray
In Trinity Idol I came second and won a trophy and a box of chocolates.
Alex D’Angelo
I am also excited about the athletics carnival because I might get into the B division but I am going to bring my own food and drink so I don’t have to pay. Thank you Mrs Kelly for this great term!”

Year 6

Right from the start, we could tell it was going to be a busy but fun and exciting year. In Term One we had our school swimming carnival. Chanel won, Jordan Begley was champion boy and Jesse Moutia was Runner Up Champion. The whole class was involved in the Paraliturgy for Good Friday. Gerard Colreavy played the part of Jesus. At the beginning of Term Two we started playing winter sport against the other schools. We also began learning Italian. We couldn’t wait for the Aquatics sessions to start. It was a real working term. We did a project on Australian Identity which focused on our way of life in Australia. This term we had two new teachers in the classroom, Mr. Chitty and Mrs. Bevan. We trained hard for the cross-country competition and for the athletics carnival. Queens came first. Aidan Duggan was champion boy, Gerard Colreavy was runner up Champion and Jordan Carlino won the Endeavour Medal.
We worked hard on our science projects where we investigated energy and change and designed our own board games that involved kinetic and potential energy. We displayed them at the science fair in week nine. Aidan Duggan, Oliver Mouchemore and Ethan Hampton won first prize for their ‘Mini Putt Putt’. ‘Hooch’, a Yo-Yo professional, visited us. He showed us the many different tricks he could do with a Yo-Yo. He also taught us about ‘Gyroscopic Stability’, which Mr Luke Godwin means spinning balance; he was ‘fully crook’.
Year 6 Green On the last day of the term the entire junior school walked over to Burswood Park for a picnic lunch. We spent hours having a great time playing footy and cricket. It was an enjoyable way to finish the term. In Term Four we visited a local recycling plant where we could see what happens to all the things we put into a recycle bin, and learned more about the importance of recycling. We also visited the Electoral Education Centre, prior to having prefect elections and to Parliament House to find out more about State Parliament. All excursions were interesting. Looking back, the year was interesting and exciting. We worked hard and had some fun in class.
