NVA's insurance covers: Professional Liability (PLIT), Disability, Worker's Compensation, General Liability, Property, Employment Practices Liability Insurance (EPLI). *See exceptions below
Worker's Compensation
Your hospital will receive a laminated sheet (also available on the following page) with quick reference information. Please post this in your breakroom. If a Worker's Comp. claim needs to be filed, Hospital Managers should call the Toll-Free number to report the claim over the phone. The "Employer's First Report of Injury" will be completed over the phone. Questions should be directed to Adam Weiss at ABWeiss@Lockton.com. A few anomalies: • • • •

Disability
Most hospitals will move under NVA's umbrella policy for disability insurance upon acquisition. The exceptions are: • • • • • •
California Hawaii New Jersey New York Rhode Island Puerto Rico.
Property
Property Coverage covers the structure and contents up to the $100,000,000 limit. Loss of rent for the building owner is also included in coverage.
Professional Liability/Malpractice
NVA's coverage is up to $2 million and will cover up to $100,000 in license defense. All DVMs practicing at an NVA hospital (relief included) fall under this umbrella. Thus, they do not need to have supplemental coverage through AVMA or another company.
