IT Helpdesk & Conversion
One of the exciting opportunities your hospital will have upon joining NVA is to update your computers and other hardware!
IT Helpdesk Support
NVA has a 24/7 IT helpdesk located at our Support Center in CA for your team to get assistance any time they need. Our IT asks you to prioritize help as follows: • For emergencies or urgent support CALL 888-777-7804 option 2 • For non-emergent support (if it can wait) please EMAIL instead: helpdesk@nva.com Prioritizing this way will allow the helpdesk to assist all hospitals on their more urgent needs (including you!).
Before you go through the hardware conversion, our IT helpdesk will be somewhat limited to how much they can help you. Please still call them and they will support as best they can. Often, NVA's IT team will link up with your local IT support if onsite work is needed.
Conversion
About 10 – 15 months post-close the Conversion team will reach out to you. Your hospital will be assigned a conversion specialist who will be your point of contact for the process. There is a lot of prep work in the process so they start early! They start post-close and you'll work together to identify a date (usually over a weekend) for the actual conversion to take place. Below is an example of what that weekend's timeline could look like.
You will get NEW computers, monitors and printers! We want you to have new equipment so we can support it and you can support your patients without worrying about technology! This is a great time to think about whether you like where your computer stations are because our team can move them, add some, etc. for you. Even if you may want another station in 1 year, have them prep for it!
The Hospital Manager is the person who works most closely with the conversion team on prep. Your life will be busy! You will need to do a nomenclature workbook where you map all of your services to NVA's codes. Codes will change but descriptions can stay the same.
