DVM Employment Agreements/Contracts Before your hospital joins NVA we will work with the owner and each DVM to memorialize DVM contracts/agreements. Typically, this means keeping the same benefits and compensation each DVM received prior to NVA and writing those benefits into a common contract with NVA. This will be taken care of ahead of time. After you have joined us, Hospital Managers should keep a copy of DVM agreements in each Doctors employee file to refer to. These agreements will outline their compensation structure (i.e. do they have a base salary only or do they get paid production as well?), vacation time, CE allowances, etc. Most of the time these stay the same as they were before you joined us but on occasion we will increase the amounts so always best to refer to the agreement now in place. If you do not receive copies of these agreements via email within the first month you are with NVA please ask your Transition Manager to send them to you.
Changes to DVM Agreements
NVA's Employment Agreements with the doctors are called "evergreen" meaning they have no end date. This means that DVMs are not hired to work just for 1 year then their "contract us up" if not resigned. In fact, NVA does not re-issue new agreements every year due to the volume of DVMs that work with us. If any of your DVMS would like changes or updates made to their agreements or if new compensation/benefits are provided to them, please first confirm these changes with your Division Leader. Then using the "EA Amendment Form" on the following page, complete the changes requested and email to EARequests@nva.com. EARequests will create the amendment, pass to you and if it looks good to your DVM, ask for that DVMS email to do an electronic signature.
New Agreements for new DVMs
Similar to changing an agreement, if you hire a new DVM, you will want to confirm compensation and benefit details with your Division Leader and Managing DVM first. Once agreed upon, your recruiter will complete an LOI to present to the candidate and once accepted, your recruiter will request the Employment Agreement and pass it on to you and if it looks good to you and your DVM, will ask for that DVMS email to have an electronic signature sent.
