OPERATING ENGINE 1. Connecting the booster batteries 1.1 Stop the engine on the booster battery mounted machine. 1.2 Connect one end of red booster cable (1) to the positive (+) terminal of the machine batteries, and the other end to the positive (+) terminal of the booster batteries. 1.3 Connect one end of black booster cable (2) to the negative (-) terminal of the booster battery, and the other end to radiator mounting bolt on the machine. In the last connection to the bracket, sparks may fly so keep the machine batteries as far away as possible from the bracket. 1.4 After securely connecting the booster cables, start the engine on the booster battery mounted machine. 1.5 Start the engine on the machine. 1.6 After the engine starts, disconnect booster cables (1 and 2) in the following steps. 2. Disconnecting the booster cables 2.1 Disconnect one end of black booster cable (2) from the radiator mounting bolt. 2.2 Disconnect the other end of black booster cable (2) from the negative terminal of the booster batteries. 2.3 Disconnect one end of red booster cable (1) from the positive terminal of the booster batteries. 2.4 Disconnect the other end of red booster cable (2) from the positive terminal of the machine batteries.
