Drive
40001296.00-en
The grader is equipped with a drive acting on all 4 wheels of the rear axle (tandem axle).
All-wheel drive A front-wheel drive can be switched on in addition to the rear-wheel drive.
The front-wheel drive is monitored by a microcontroller and adapted to the rear-wheel drive conditions. When the front-wheel drive is off, the front wheels turn freely independent of the drive. If the hydraulic pump of the frontwheel drive is defective and therefore no longer driven, the machine must be shut off.
Front-wheel drive The front-wheel drive can only be additionally activated, when the machine is in gear. The front-wheel drive is activated and deactivated with rocker switch (41, Fig. 6).
The machine can then no longer be used, even if the front-wheel drive is off. Locate the cause of the fault and rectify. Front-wheel drive - speed levels For adapting the front-wheel drive to the working conditions, the speed of the front wheels can be varied in 8 levels with respect to the speed of the of the rear wheels. The speed levels are selected with rotary switch (84, Fig. 7).

Activating the front-wheel drive Press the symbol face of switch 41 (Fig. 6): the symbol is lit up front-wheel drive active Deactivating the front-wheel drive
front-axle traction force is increased Positions -1 and –2 = front wheels have lower speed (lag)
Press the blank face of switch 41 (Fig. 2): the symbol is off
front-axle traction force is reduced
front-wheel drive inactive
The drive can be activated and deactivated in all states of operation. The drive is switched on and off: - when the machine is stationary and in gear - when the travelling speed is less than 2 km/h When the front-wheel drive is on, the powershift transmission cannot be used in 6th gear. When gear 6 is engaged, the front-wheel drive cannot be switched on. Fig. 7
