To prevent damage to electronic modules (e.g. instrument cluster, keypad, engine...) during welding operations, the procedure described below must be observed.

Ar first, set the battery main switch to OFF (see also "Switching the electrical system on and off – Battery main switch"). Disconnect the negative and the positive leads from the battery (see also: "Removing and installing the batteries")

Unplug electronic module connectors

In several cases, the connectors of electronic components must be unplugged.

Gearbox control unit "EST37A" (XA1) and frontwheel drivce control "FWD" (XA8.1)

1. Remove the panel (Fig. 1). Loosen the 6 hex socket head screws and keep in a safe place. 2. Draw back retaining clamp (1, Fig. 2) and unplug connector (2) from the EST unit (A, Fig. 2) by pulling it out of the socket. Do not forget to disengage the lug at the front end of the connector. 3. Release and unplug connector (B, Fig. 2) in the same way as described above. 4. Unplug the connector (arrow, Fig. 3).

Connectors in the driver's cab

These connectors are loacted at the rear above the cab floor. 1. Open the engine hood and engage in service position II (see "Opening the engine hood"). 2. Withdraw connectors (A, B, Fig. 6) and (C, Fig. 8).

Engine control box

The connectors of the engine control unit are located on the left side of the engine under the hood (A, B, C Fig. 5). 1. Open the engine hood (see "Opening the engine hood"). 2. Draw back retaining clamp (1, Fig. 5) and unplug connector (2) of the engine control unit (A, B, Fig. 5) by pulling it out of the socket. Do not forget to disengage the lug at the front end of the connector.

Alternator connector

Withdraw the connector at the alternator (2, Fig. 8) after disengaging hook (1).

Fig.:8 3100577.00 When all these steps are achieved, welding on the machine can begin (read and observe also: "Welding operations – Safety instructions" and "Welding information"). After completion of the welding operations all electronic components must be reconnected. To reconnect, repeat the steps described above by proceeding in reverse order.

Failure to observe this working procedure entails the exclusion of any liability or warranty whatsoever for damage caused by such nonobservance.
