Protection of electronic modules during welding operations

To prevent damage to electronic modules (e.g. instrument cluster, keypad, engine...) during welding operations, the procedure described below must be observed. Ar first, set the battery main switch to OFF (see also "Switching the electrical system on and off – Battery main switch"). Disconnect the negative and the positive leads from the battery (see also: "Removing and installing the batteries")

Unplug electronic module connectors

In several cases, the connectors of electronic components must be unplugged.

Gearbox control unit "EST37A" (XA1) and frontwheel drivce control "FWD" (XA8.1) 1. Remove the panel (Fig. 1). Loosen the 6 hex socket head screws and keep in a safe place. 2. Draw back retaining clamp (1, Fig. 2) and unplug connector (2) from the EST unit (A, Fig. 2) by pulling it out of the socket. Do not forget to disengage the lug at the front end of the connector. 3. Release and unplug connector (B, Fig. 2) in the same way as described above. 4. Unplug the connector (arrow, Fig. 3).
