OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Daily Inspection 5. Clean all debris from the machine, especially around the engine and radiator.
Do the following each day before you start the engine. 1. Check the operation of the seat bar and operator presence switch, see pages 169 and 170.
6. Clean or replace any safety or instructional decals that cannot be read.
2. Check the machine for leaks. Repair all leaks and clean the area with solvent, or pre ssure wash using soap and water.
7. Clean the hand rails, steps, and operators compartment. Remove all loose items from the machine.
4. Check for damaged, loose, or missing parts. Replace, tighten, or a d ju st a s r e q u ire d b e fo r e y o u operate the machine.
NOTE: If this is a new machine, or a machine with a new or rebuilt engine, see “Run-In Period”, page 94.
Starting The Engine
WARNING: Before you start the engine, read and understand the operator’s manual and the safety decals for this machine. ALWAYS fasten the seat belt and pull seat bar down. Make sure all other persons in the area are away from the machine. SC004

Learn and practice safe use of controls before operation. It is your responsibility to understand and follow the manufacturer’s instructions on machine operation, service, and to observe pertinent laws and regulations. 4. Push the throttle forward approximately 25 mm (one inch).
1. Adjust the seat and fasten the seat belt.
NOTE: If the weather is cold, see “Operating in Cold Weather” for starting aids on page 68.
2. Pull the seat bar down. 3. Alert any person in the area that you are going to start the engine.
