The service interval for the heater filter will be determined by the amount of use and the conditions in which the machine is operated. See page 132. To remove the heater filter release the latch and lift up on the filter handle.

Cleaning the Cab Heater Filter

To clean the filter complete the following procedure. 1.Check the dirty element for damage. 2.Be sure to wear face protection.

Remove the loose dirt with compressed air, 2 bar (30 psi) maximum. Hold the nozzle at least 25 mm (1 inch) from the element. 3.Mix 30 ml (2 tablespoons or 1 oz) of D1400 detergent (Case part number A40910) with 7.6 litres (2 gallons) of water, 237 ml (1 cup or 8 oz) for 60 litres (13.2 gallons) of water. 4.Soak the element in the soap solution for 15 to 20 minutes and then shake the element up and down rapidly to loosen as much dirt as possible.

BS99K084 6.Allow the element to air dry. If you use a dryer, do not exceed 71°C (160°F) and make sure the air is circulating in the dryer. 7.Use a light and inspect the element for holes or splits in the pleats.

Check for damage to the metal parts and rubber gaskets.
