Brian Warren Brian has over forty years’ experience in the civil construction industry having held senior management positions with both Fulton Hogan and Isaac Construction. He was also a director of several subsidiary companies for both organisations. Brian is a member of the Institute of Directors, a director of Ashburton Contracting Ltd, a current member and past Chair of the Civil Trades Certification board. He served on the CCNZ National Executive for 5 years, including 2 years as President, having previously been a Roading NZ Councillor for 9 years. The importance of industry training awards: In preparing their entry for the Connexis Civil Industry Training Awards a company gets the opportunity to formally show how passionate and committed they are about developing their people. Every executive will tell you that people are their most important resource, and these awards showcase those companies who follow that through with how they embed training as a cornerstone of their business. New Zealand is currently facing major labour shortages in many sectors, most particularly infrastructure, making developing our people even more important. Effective training needs to be structured, consistent, apply at all levels within the organisation, be easily understood and fully supported by management. To enter these awards all nominees, have to demonstrate all these attributes and more. They should be proud of the real difference they are making to people’s lives.
