In 2017 CCC sought a new approach to maintaining its roading network. Council wanted better road maintenance outcomes for the city and its people. Higgins Contractors delivered this change for Council through its fresh approach based on the lessons developed, proven and refined on other roading maintenance contracts.
For each of its maintenance contracts, collaboration and service are hallmarks of Higgins’ operations.
Higgins’ maintenance solution for CCC includes the following key elements: • Focusing on customers; • Providing better value for money; • Helping Council with a higher level of data collection, validation and sharing across all their networks; • Honestly and accurately measuring the performance of the contract; • Developing and maintaining a strong, collaborative relationship.
The success of Higgins Roading Maintenance Contract in Christchurch has seen the original completion date of September 2020 extended by the maximum term to September 2022. More importantly it has created a true network stewardship culture with a one team approach to planning and delivery.
