Year 6 Blue Mr Bernard Le Tessier Year 6 Blue
This year I have had the pleasure of teaching a group of fine young men. Here are some of the highlights from their year. I went to the Interschool Swimming Carnival this year. It is very nerve-racking and exciting. When it came to the day everybody cheered you on as you swam the final ten metres of your race. This is an experience I will never forget! Callum Jones One of my most enjoyable memories of Year 6 was the da Vinci Decathlon. Eight Year 6 boys went to Wesley College for the da Vinci Decathlon which, unfortunately, we did not win. I’m sure all the Year 6 boys next year should be looking forward to this fun day of academic ability. Ethan Throssell One great thing that happened this year was when Eliot Yeo came and talked to the Year 6 boys. He talked about his trip from junior football to the AFL (thanks dad). Jess Higgins Something I enjoyed about Year 6 was the Evening of Eminence. All the gifted and talented boys researched an eminent person and later gave a speech in front of all the families of the other boys in G & T. Cameron Pell Something that I will remember for a long time and enjoyed in 2014 was playing in the annual Ian MacRae Cup football match between Aquinas College and Trinity College. This year it was held on Mann Oval. Something that made it even more special was being the captain of the team – this was a big honour. Luke Kelly This year I made it into the Interschool Athletics Carnival. I was chosen to be head of the team with Jojo Parise (6G). It was a fantastic day and the whole team did really well. We won the 4x100 relay and nearly broke the record. Overall, we came third. Jason Landon This year, I experienced meeting the Golden Heritage Club members. Old Boys came to the Junior School and talked to us about their old school days. It was so interesting. We wrote them a letter to say thank you for coming. Kyle Hembra A fun part of Year 6 was competing in the interschool Speak Up Awards. The Speak Up Awards is a public speaking competition. It was very interesting hearing people talk about an issue in today’s society. Patrick Croll

One of my favourite things I did this year was Unfair Day. On Unfair Day I played lots of games that the high schoolers made to raise money for the poor. Rafael Fiore During Term 3, G & T students participated in an Australiawide contest called Clued Up Kids. We had to find out who hit a kid during a cricket game. We used a rap, PowerPoint and news telecast to answer. Our team won the whole contest. William Rowney This year the prefects had the privilege to go to Parliament House and have a full tour. We all ordered a three-course meal which everyone loved. We had a fantastic time and everyone enjoyed themselves. Matthew Bottega This year the whole Year 6 group went to Camp Kelly. My two favourite activities were the rowing activity and the art activity. Rowing was fun because we jostled each other’s boats. Joseph Ricci Something that was exciting this year was going to Kalgoorlie in Term 2. One of the things we did was pan for gold. Caleb Webb Some things I enjoyed this year was when I performed our dance in front of lots of people at the Performing Arts Festival. I am part of B.I.G., which is a dance crew and we are taught by Miss K. The best bit was when I did my move in front of the audience at the Perth Convention Centre. Joshua McIntyre One of my favourite memories of Year 6 was playing an all-day cricket game against Guildford Grammar School. We had our own change rooms and we had lunch provided. We played at Guildford and we had official PSA umpires. Daniel Vos During Term 4, 31 year 6s were invited to an overnight Astronomy Camp. In our groups, we participated in a number of activities, such as quizzes, paper probe building and rocket assembling and launching. Everybody had a blast and was over the moon about the experience with the astronomy scholars. Aiden Ogg One of the many jobs of being a deputy house captain is helping organise the teams and individuals at the sport carnivals. I called out the students’ names and helped the teams and teachers. I enjoyed being in charge and fulfilling my role. Adrian Sinagra My favourite time of the year is the Catholic Performing Arts. Trinity put in four performances. I was in the Year 5 and 6 Choir and the Junior Vocal Ensemble. Connor Whelan Book Week dress-up was one the best times at school for me because I like dressing up, and books! It was also fun to see what others dressed-up as. Heaps of characters were there!
