The Trinity College Parent Council consists of a group of Parents who represent the school community and who meet on a regular basis with the Deputy Headmaster.
In testament to the strength of commitment by parents at the College, this committee has been operating for 21 years.
The objectives of the Parent Council are:
• To assist with community building within the College • Provide feedback to the College Leadership team • Organise Social activities • Organise Guest Speakers
In 2014 we started with the Trinity College Parent Council Sundowner which was held in the Staff Lounge. This is an evening designed for parents, especially those new to the College, to meet other parents in the school community.
The Trinity College Parent Council Ball was held at the end of the Term 1 in Gibney Hall. The hall was stunningly decorated by the Year 12 parents led by Margie Tannoch. The night was a great success with dancing going on until the early hours. This year the Parent Council hosted an evening talk on Cyber Bullying. This was a highly informative evening which was very well received by the parents who attended.
Two of our members, Michael Pover and Pascale Le Meur have stepped down from the Parent Council this year. I wish to thank them very much for their valuable contribution over the many years. I welcome Bronwyn Meldrum and Cate Bertrum to the Trinity College Parent Council and I am sure they will offer wonderful support in their roles.
Finally I would like to thank all members of the Trinity College Parent Council for all their valuable input at our meetings and their support at the various functions throughout the year.
Gordon Taylor Chair, Trinity College Parent Council
