Trinity College Auxiliary Executive Beverly Mattinez (Community Coordinator), Katalin Torre, Nicola Gosatti (President), Sharon Maher, Stacey Kannis (Vice President), Lee Loughnan (Secretary) Absent: Ivan Banks, Rita Rocca, Christina Miller, Kim Rees
The 2014 year for the Auxiliary continued as in previous years, to be a busy and fulfilling time.
The Trinity College community support of Auxiliary events was overwhelming this year and it proves that our TC Spirit is alive and well.
We began the year with our now annual information night, which we extended to include both new Mums and Dads at the College. The evening provided a great opportunity to ask those sometimes sticky questions and get the information straight from other parents. My thanks to Ivan Banks, Carol Watson, Stephen Leahy, Kim Rees, Stacey Kannis, Michael Roche and Student Services, for giving their time to provide expert information on the night.
Our Grandparents’ Morning Tea was as always, a highlight in the college calendar. It was wonderful to see our Year 8 students bring so many special family members to this event. An enjoyable time was had by all those who attended. Our guest speaker for this year’s Auxiliary Morning Teas was Police Commissioner Karl O’Callaghan. The Commissioner provided insightful information into the effects that alcohol in particular can have on young teenage boys. He emphasized how important the guidance that we provide to our children is and how it can influence the choices they make in the future. The generosity of the attendees also allowed us to donate $2000 to the Commissioner’s charity of Bright Blue.
Our ladies long lunch, this year held at Must Winebar, provided the mothers of Trinity with an opportunity to connect and meet new people and enjoy each other’s company.
The Auxiliary once again provided support to TOBA functions and supported many Friends of groups at the College
My sincere thanks to our outgoing Secretary Lee Loughnan, Lee’s skills and accuracy were outstanding. Her long -term service to the Auxiliary has been valued and appreciated by many.
To our new and continuing officer bearers, Stacey Kannis (Vice President), Katalin Torre (Secretary), Rita Rocca (Treasurer), Christina Miller (Junior School Vice-President) and Kim Rees (Kitchen Coordinator), my sincerest thanks for your ongoing support and never ending hard work over the past year.
On behalf of the Auxiliary, we extend our thanks, to our headmaster Ivan Banks and the College Staff. Whilst we are behind the scenes ensuring the success of many events, this would not happen without the continued support of the College administration.
To the college parents who extend their hand of support whenever asked I thank you. Finally to the members of the Auxiliary, the “Women for Others”. This special group of women whom without the Auxiliary wouldn’t exist and be the success that it is, my overwhelming thanks to you all.
