10. On the conventional output shaft transmissions: T313–T318(L)(LR), press a new spigot bearing into the front of the rear mainshaft.
Drawn cup needle bearings (spigot bearings) have a specific direction in which they must be installed. The radius end of the bearing must be installed first. The flat end (the end with identification markings) faces against the angled shoulder of the pressing tool. 368

9. For the extended output shaft transmissions: T313–T318(21)(L21)(LR21), if not previously done, press a new inner bearing cone onto the output shaft. Seat the bearing against the shoulder of the shaft, using a suitable driver. Apply force to the inner race only. 367
