General working methods
Closing the clamshells (2): Danger! When closing, the shell type bucket can lift the machine. The machine could roll away! Avoid lifting the machine when closing the grab, by raising the stick sufficiently. Close the clamshells. Raise the stick slightly to reduce ground pressures. Lifting digging material (3): Close the clamshells fully. Raise the boom. Move the machine to the unloading area (e.g. transport vehicle).

Push the stick out as far as possible to avoid danger due to the oscillating grab. Open the clamshells, dump the digging material.

Taking up the load
The maximum lifting capacity is attained when the load is taken up as close to the chassis as possible.
