Fig. 3-31 Battery master switch
The battery master switch must be in position 1 (ON).
Turn the ignition key to contact position 1.
As soon as the ignition is turned on, the keypads and the display instruments runs through a self check.
Note!
If the keypad and display instruments do not run through a self check when the ignition key is in contact position, check if the battery master switch is positioned on
Make sure that the display instruments are functioning perfectly when they are turned on.
All indicator lights must turn on briefly.
Electronic immobilizer (option)
On request, the machine can be equipped with an electronic immobilizer.
3-32 Electronic immobilizer
Insert the coding key 1 in the coding lock S74 and then remove it again. The LED turns off. A signal tone sounds.
Turn the electrical system on.
Use the ignition key to start the electrical system within 9 seconds.
If the ignition is not turned on within 9 seconds, the coding key must be reinserted in the coding lock.
When the ignition is switched on, the immobilizer activates independently after approx. 30 seconds.
To reorder the coding key, state the code number noted on the accompanying code card (cheque card format).
3.3.2.3Starting the engine
Note!
Only actuate the starter when the Diesel engine is shut down.
Do not actuate the starter continuously for longer than 10 seconds.
If the engine does not start, turn the ignition key back to contact position 1. Wait at least 1 minute before repeating the starting procedure.
Turn the ignition key back to position 0 before restarting the engine.
Starting procedure at ambient temperatures above 0°C
If the engine and batteries are in good condition, the engine can be started without preheating.
Sensor controlled low idle automatic S20 must be turned off. The indicator light may not light up.
Turn the throttle control R75 from the zero point a ¼ turn to the right.
Turn the ignition key to starting position 3
Release the ignition key as soon as the engine is running. All indicator lights must turn off.
The buzzer will sound briefly when the engine starts until the engine oil pressure builds up.
Starting procedure at ambient temperatures below 0°C
Preheating improves the starting behavior of the Diesel engine at low temperatures. Sensor controlled low idle automatic S20 must be turned off. The indicator light may not light up.
Turn the throttle control R75 from the zero point a ¼ turn to the right.
Turn the ignition key to position 1. The indicator light H11 lights up.
Wait until the indicator light H11 turns off. Preheating is completed.
Turn the ignition key to starting position 3
Release the ignition key as soon as the engine is running. All indicator lights must turn off.
The buzzer will sound briefly when the engine starts until the engine oil pressure builds up.
Note!
Do not preheat an engine which is at operating temperature.
