40.4 BRAKE BLEEDING PROCEDURE Brake bleeding is the procedure performed on hydraulic brake systems whereby the brake lines (the pipes and hoses containing the brake fluid) are purged of any air bubbles.
40.4.1 PREPARATION AND SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS -
Stabilise the machine on level ground, fully retract the boom, place transmission control lever in neutral position. Ensure the brake pedals are correctly adjusted. Engage parking brake. Start the engine.

Check and correct the brake system fluid level. Connect clear plastic tube to the left and right vent screws (1) of the front axle and position the other end into a suitable container. Open the left and right side vent screws one by one. Press and release the brake pedal a few times and allow the brake fluid to drain into the container until an air free flow of brake oil is obtained. Close the left and right vent screws one by one after ensuring that the fluid do not contain any air bubble. Repeat this process for rear axle. Remove the plastic tubes and the container. Check the brake system fluid level and top up if required.
! NOTE Always bleed the circuit from the furthest bleed screw in the circuit to the nearest one
