T3 TELESCOPE ” REFIT

Apply “ Loctite 243 normal thread lock” to all screw / insert and nut / screw interfaces only on boom inside.

- Replace pad assembly (Item 1) at T3 telescope foot (Item 2).

- Put chocks (Item 3) only on T3 telescope lower part (Item2).

- Use sling and hoist to insert T3 telescope into T2 telescope ( Item 4 ) without putting it in fully. Leave a clearance of about 30 cm.

- Use a presser foot tool to butt T3 telescope foot ( Item 2 ) against T2 telescope foot ( Item 4 ) right side.

- Measure “ J1 ” clearance between the two telescopes on left hand side. Divide this clearance figure by 2 to find the thickness of the shim to be inserted on each side of the T3 telescope.

Find the “ J2 ” clearance between upper pad ( Item 5 ) and T3 telescope upper side.

- Insert one shim ( Item 6 ) under each pad ( Item 5 ) to fill in this clearance ( between 0 and 0,5 mm ).

- Insert two pads ( Item 7 ) + 2 shims ( Item 8 ) to T2 telescope head ( Item4 ).

- Fix them in place by tightening up their rods and nuts.

- Insert four side pads + rods ( Item 9 ) to each side of the T2 telescope.

- Insert two pads + shims + rods to the T2 telescope upper part.

- Use a presser foot tool ( Item 10 ) to butt T3 telescope ( Item 2 ) against T2 telescope ( Item 4 ) right side.

- Measure “ J3 ” clearance between the two telescopes on left hand side. Divide this clearance figure by 2 to find the thickness of the shim to be inserted on each side of the T2 telescope.

Shim thickness = J3/2

- Insert one shim ( Item 11 ) to each side of the T2 telescope.

Total clearance between 0 and 0,5 mm.

- Find “ J4 ” clearance between upper pad and shim ( Item 13 ).

- Insert a shim ( Item 14 ) to take up this clearance.

- Tighten rods and nuts for each pad, observing the required tightening torque figures.

C 1 =15 N.m 15% -

C 2 =92 N.m 15%

- Observe tightening torques and assembly recommendations.

C1 = 15 N.m ±15%

C2 = 92 N.m ±15%

- Fully insert T3 telescope into T2 telescope.

- Fix “ T3 retract chain blade ” ( Item 15 ) in place. Tighten two screws ( Item16 ) to a 95 N.m. tightening torque. Put blade stub in place before tightening screws. Then tighten up blade fixing screws.

- Put “ pad support bracket ” ( Item 17 ) in place then tighten up its two nuts with washers ( Item18 ).

- Apply “ Loctite 243 normal thread lock ” to fasteners.

- Replace pad assembly ( Item 22 ) at T2 telescope foot ( Item 23 ).

- Put chocks ( Item 24 ) only on T2 telescope lower part ( Item 23 ).
