A message from Matt Wilson, President and CEO

Over the past year, Light & Wonder has undergone remarkable transformations. With new leadership at the helm, we’ve made strategic decisions to divest significant portions of our business, acquire key assets and even rebrand under a new name.

These changes have been integral to strengthening our position in the market and propelling our growth. We’ve laid the foundation for a new vision for Light & Wonder — one that positions us as the leading cross-platform global games company. And the results have been nothing short of phenomenal.

Now, we’re turning our focus toward developing a culture around our greatest asset: our people. As CEO, I consider myself the company’s Chief Growth Officer, dedicated not only to financial success but also to the well-being of the individuals who drive our achievements.

Our approximately 6,000-strong workforce represents thousands of families who rely on Light & Wonder every day. They are at the heart of this work.

I take immense pride in the progress we’ve made — and I’m even more optimistic about our work ahead.

Firm in our commitment to become an employer of choice, we believe that different perspectives enrich every aspect of our business. We’re actively working to make sure our company reflects the vibrancy of the communities where we live and work.

We embrace our responsibility — with all of its complexities — to serve as a good corporate steward and extend our impact beyond our organization.

Through greater innovation and adaptability, we’re maintaining ethical practices that empower future generations. By fostering inclusivity, prioritizing Responsible Gaming and upholding strong corporate integrity that ensures the resilience of our planet, we’re taking concrete actions to instill positive change in the very communities that have shaped us.

I take immense pride in the progress we’ve made — and I’m even more optimistic about our work ahead. This inaugural report serves not only as our roadmap for what’s next but also as a powerful source of inspiration. These stories of progress and impact showcase how far we’ve come and ignite our collective imagination to build a better, more sustainable future together.

A message from Tracy Skenandore, VP of Corporate Social Responsibility

Light & Wonder is purpose-driven at our core. As a global company operating in six continents, we recognize the scale of our influence. Through our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), we hold one another accountable as agents of change, continuously striving to inspire a better world.

We are purpose-driven at our core.

In the last decade, CSR has seen a significant surge in interest and action, reinforcing the conviction that social, environmental and economic prosperity is best achieved within a more inclusive society. As an employer, it’s our responsibility to lead this change.

To meet the moment, Light & Wonder embarked on a journey of self-discovery, crafting a new approach more aligned with our values. In 2022, we conducted a series of surveys and one-on-one interviews with our Creators worldwide to gain a better sense of their priorities. This valuable input guided the development of a new CSR strategy built around four main pillars: Community, People, Planet and Player. These pillars encompass all aspects of our business, reflecting what truly matters to our team members and stakeholders.

Building off that momentum, we launched our new CSR brand, Game Changers. Because that’s exactly what we’re doing — changing the game every day for our people, our planet, our players and the communities where we work, live and play.

Achieving each pillar’s ambitious goals, outlined in this report, requires an unwavering commitment — one that champions diversity at every level of production. Our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) priorities not only guide our path forward but also affirm our determination to fuel lasting change within our industry and communities at large.

While we have made tremendous strides in our CSR journey over the last two years, we know our work has just begun. Our renewed focus has shed new light on where we are now and how we can continue to push boundaries of play.

I am humbled each and every day as I engage with our Creators, customers and stakeholders. The work we’re accomplishing in each of our markets and the impacts we’re making across the globe are indicative of our guiding CSR brand. We’re changing the game — for good.

What Corporate Social Responsibility means to us

We are committed to serving as a responsible corporate steward, driven by purpose with every action we take. With the best interests of our Creators, partners, players and communities at the forefront of our work, we are dedicated to creating a positive, lasting impact.

At Light & Wonder, our most important asset is our team of Creators. We believe in building a diverse and inclusive workplace, where equity and belonging thrive. Within a culture that values their unique backgrounds, experiences and ideas, our Creators are empowered to deliver thrilling entertainment experiences for our players around the globe.

As part of our global Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) work, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) priorities are deeply ingrained in our culture. They underscore Light & Wonder’s commitment to be a positive influence in the industry and communities where we live, work and play.

In 2021, Light & Wonder established a CSR program roadmap and defined five main pillars that have been developed and integrated across the organization. These pillars include:

APPROACH CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY REPORT | 2022 10

Game Changers

OUR PILLARS

To highlight this transformative work, we’ve named our new CSR brand and program Game Changers — a choice that perfectly encapsulates our commitment to revolutionizing the gaming landscape for our people, our planet, our players and our communities.

Community People Planet

Philanthropy, giving back to communities and charitable causes, and creating stronger places to live

Building new worlds of play as one diverse, equitable and inclusive company culture

Player Corporate Governance

Preserving and protecting our planet for a sustainable future

Leading the industry in Responsible Gaming initiatives and stewardship for our players and Creators

Creating a system of corporate responsibility and ethics by which we will operate

APPROACH CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY REPORT | 2022 11

The Game Changers journey

Our CSR journey began by setting forth a strategy that has since guided the work that you will see depicted in this inaugural annual report. To be mindful of the importance and potential impact of our CSR work, we decided to take a “crawl, walk, run” approach to ensure we identified our 2020 baseline and structured a plan to properly build upon it year over year.

Crawl

2021–2022

Walk 2023–2024

Run 2025–2026

Plan 2020–2021

Discovery and evaluation phase: We conducted a deep evaluation of our work across the entire enterprise in the areas of philanthropy; diversity, equity and inclusion

(DEI); environmental sustainability; and Responsible Gaming. From those early findings, we identified gaps where we had the greatest opportunity for improvement, growth and global impact.

Baseline phase: We then established our baseline CSR work priorities, including a strategic plan for global implementation and adoption. During this time, we launched a new central charity management platform used by Creators to better track and monitor the impact of all charitable contributions and donations made across the organization and in the vast number of regions and countries in which we operate.

Benchmark phase: Looking forward, we intend to build upon this foundation with more advanced CSR activities and initiatives, leveraging our global reporting platform to establish and monitor benchmarks and hold stakeholders accountable to those benchmarks. We plan to recalibrate the strategy year over year as needed. By this point, our DEI work will be fully integrated across the organization with measurable environmental sustainability targets identified and embedded into our operational footprint.

Foundation phase: Our work will be well established, having gained strong momentum within each pillar of our CSR priorities. We intend to assess our 5-year ESG roadmap and measure the milestones met to determine our next 5-year roadmap for the 2026–2030 calendar years ahead and beyond.

APPROACH CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY REPORT | 2022 12

APPROACH

Following our Roadmap

As part of our new focus on CSR, we have also developed a 5-year ESG roadmap. This strategic plan enables us to thoughtfully and effectively pursue our goals, reach significant milestones and implement impactful global programs, while upholding fiscal responsibility. Our roadmap encompasses the key elements of Materiality Assessments, Benchmarks, Frameworks, Reporting and Investor Relations governance, ensuring a comprehensive approach to our ESG initiatives.

MATERIALITY ASSESSMENTS

Each year, we conduct a thorough materiality assessment via a survey that evaluates and measures our progress across all pillars of our CSR work and a gap analysis to identify areas of opportunity, strength and weakness.

We launched our first materiality assessment in 2022 based on our defined baseline identified in 2021. This process relies on key stakeholders and subject matter experts in each major division across Light & Wonder to evaluate our operational capabilities.

BENCHMARKS

Based on the capabilities identified by our Materiality Assessments, we will establish annual data and strategy-driven benchmarks based on a 5-year roadmap.

FRAMEWORKS

We will align our materiality findings with appropriate frameworks and standards to drive the greatest results aligned with regulatory guidelines and requirements.

By doing so, we can effectively hold stakeholders accountable and provide enhanced visibility into and transparency on our progress to our Creators, customers and investors.

REPORTING

We are committed to producing a publicly available annual report that clearly defines our intentions and milestones met in each pillar of our CSR work.

INVESTOR RELATIONS

Our goal is to attract and capture new investor groups passionate about socially conscious brands. Our public reporting, disclosures and ESG ratings will place us within the appropriate ESG indices and help amplify our new brand.

CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY REPORT | 2022 13

A closer look at ESG Materiality

ESG is an evaluation of a firm’s collective conscientiousness for social, environmental and governance factors that can be applied and interpreted differently. At Light & Wonder, ESG is a set of standards or a score for our CSR pillars of work that socially conscience investors will use to screen potential investments. ESG will be the model we use to self-align with various prioritized ESG frameworks and standards as part of our 5-year roadmap.

OUR ESG STRATEGY SPECIFICALLY TARGETS THESE IMPORTANT AREAS:

ENVIRONMENTAL

Environmental Sustainability, Climate & Circular Economy

1. Fleet and carbon emissions

2. Energy consumption and renewable energy usage

3. Waste management, recycling and conservation of raw materials

4. Renewables, resource preservation and repurposing of materials

5. Environmental footprint of operations and sustainable operations opportunities

6. Environmental impact on communities and natural environments where we work and live

GOVERNANCE

Our first comprehensive materiality assessment in 2022 established a baseline for our work to inform our 5-year roadmap. The results allowed us to better drive our strategy in a way that tightly aligns with our business objectives.

WHY L&W PRIORITIZES A CSR SURVEY AS PART OF OUR MATERIALITY ASSESSMENTS:

• Our customers, players, Creators and regulatory agencies require us to hold high standards for how we impact the world around us.

• This makes our CSR initiatives an integral part of our business strategy.

• Our approach to our four main CSR pillars — Community, People, Planet and Player — materially shapes our culture at Light & Wonder, and is a high-impact lever of Creator engagement and global talent attraction and retention.

WHY WE CHOSE A SURVEY TO INFORM OUR EFFORTS:

• Global engagement in our CSR work is essential to gaining greater adoption and advocacy.

• We’ve built great momentum in the last 24 months, but we recognize there is still more work to be done. We believe in the importance of providing a platform for our Creators to engage and share their perspectives.

• We value our Creators’ voices and actively listen to their input.

• We want to learn what Creators are most passionate about so we can capture those considerations as we further develop our annual CSR strategy and roadmap.

34%

WHAT OUR SURVEY ACCOMPLISHED:

• 25 key questions addressed our core areas of CSR work to elicit responses that reflect the broader global perspective and more specific sub-topics within philanthropy; DEI; environmental sustainability; and Responsible Gaming.

70%

• When asked if Creators felt the increased investment in CSR initiatives in the last 18 to 24 months made them prouder to work for Light & Wonder, the responses rate was 70% favorable. This tells us that Creators believe CSR is important to the culture and how they feel connected to the company overall.

NURTURING DIVERSITY THROUGH Employee Resource Groups

The goal of creating our first six Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), which launched in 2021, was to foster a diverse and inclusive workspace. Establishing these voluntary, Creator-led groups was critical for our DEI strategy to ensure all Creators have a voice and feel a sense of belonging.

Our ERGs provide the following benefits for Creators:

• Create networking opportunities to engage with leadership and colleagues globally

• Offer resources and programs to support professional development

• Foster Creator mentorship and sponsorship opportunities

• Increase participation in community outreach efforts and partnerships

• Develop advocacy relationships across the organization

• Support the development and implementation of DEI business outcomes

DEI RESPONSES:

• While Creators believe DEI is a priority for Light & Wonder, when Creators were asked to rank DEI against other CSR pillars, Creators felt DEI was less important compared to environmental sustainability, philanthropy and Responsible Gaming.

• Creator feedback revealed that DEI perspectives around the globe vary based on geography, culture and differing life experiences. Some DEI initiatives have become very political in some regions, which may have influenced how Creators responded.

- Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), including Austria, Greece, Ireland, Malta, South Africa, Spain, Sweden and United Kingdom

We also provide financial support to relevant organizations during times of crisis. We’ve made significant donations to help those affected by various natural disasters, such as Hurricane Ida and the wildfires in Greece and

SPOTLIGHT

How our India teams are empowering opportunity

Light & Wonder India partnered with Chitraalaya Trust to empower women with physical and socioeconomic disadvantages. Our $5,000 donation funded sewing machines and training for 30 women, equipping them with valuable skills that foster autonomy and access to opportunity.

We’ve also launched multiple initiatives to empower children facing financial barriers to education. From student nominations by our Creators, we provided educational support to more than 100 students spanning elementary, secondary and graduate levels.

We additionally sponsored the higher education of 18 students pursuing degrees in Engineering and Technology, helping create opportunities to uplift communities from the cycle of poverty.

Our India team’s efforts extend to supporting unhoused and displaced children with disabilities. We provided transportation to ease access to regular health checkups and connect them with vital resources, such as medical exams and medications. We established a digital class at their shelter home to further support equal educational opportunities regardless of their level of ability.

• Environmental stewardship: We are committed to keeping our communities clean and safe. We take responsibility for our environmental impact, starting with our own operations. We ensure we maintain environmentally responsible practices throughout our organization, including areas such as manufacturing and fleet transportation, and are working to reduce our overall company carbon footprint.

To extend our impact, we partner with environmental sustainability programs, community cleanups and beautification projects. We are dedicated to enhancing clean water access for communities facing food insecurities, while actively advocating for the preservation and protection of natural resources. By aligning ourselves with these initiatives, we strive to create healthier, cleaner and safer environments for our Creators and communities worldwide.

• Global partnership: We believe in the power of collaboration and actively seek partnerships with regional causes that have a global reach. Through these alliances, we work alongside global charities to make substantial contributions toward meaningful causes. By leveraging the collective influence of key stakeholders, customers and Creators, we amplify our partnerships and ensure they align with our mission, vision and core values.

Our support for global causes in turn fosters a sense of community and shared values within our own company. It fuels strong engagement and an inclusive, collaborative culture committed to making lasting impacts.

A CULTURE OF CREATOR VOLUNTEERISM

We established the Light & Wonder Game Changers Volunteer Program to support activities that enhance Creator volunteerism, foster team bonding and support issues that impact the quality of life in the communities where we work and live. Our Creators can contribute up to eight hours per year of volunteer (paid) time off to volunteer at a local charitable organization of their choosing. From engaging in local book drives and community-wide days of giving to supporting unhoused students and advancing access to education, Light & Wonder Creators globally volunteered a combined 18,000 hours to impactful charitable causes in 2022.

As part of our 5-year CSR roadmap, we intend to increase Creator volunteerism from the current 8-hour allotment of volunteer time off to 12 hours by 2024 and increase Creator participation by 10% year over year.

OUR EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE FUND (EAF)

At Light & Wonder, we understand that our team’s ability to make a positive impact in the community begins with providing them the support they need within our organization.

As the global pandemic led to the closure of land-based gaming locations worldwide, our business needed to adapt. We recognized our Creators were navigating their own set of uncertainties and challenges — and needed support. To respond with the urgency the situation demanded, we swiftly established the EAF as a means of providing timely assistance to Creators facing hardships.

The fund was initiated with contributions from the company and personal donations from senior leadership. As awareness around the fund grew, our Creators also expressed their desire to contribute, leading us to partner with the Emergency Assistance Foundation and establish the EAF as a nonprofit organization.

We extend the opportunity to apply for grants from the EAF to all eligible Creators in various challenging situations, including impacts to their primary residence, damages caused by natural disasters, serious illness or injury, health care needs, violent crime, domestic abuse, the loss of an immediate family member or if they are part of a military family with an active-duty spouse on deployment. These grants may be used for essential expenses such as utilities, mortgage or rent payments, groceries and non-reimbursable medical expenses.

To provide easy access to the EAF, we established a dedicated public website where Creators can access information, review eligibility criteria and submit their application. To maintain fairness and transparency, all applications undergo a thorough review process by independent third-party EAF underwriters. Their expertise ensures that grants are awarded based on eligibility and need.

In 2022, Light & Wonder was proud to award 114 grants to Creators and their families, given in amounts ranging from $500 to $1,000 each. Together, these grants amounted to a significant total of $72,000 for the year.

The Charity Bike Build brought together the Finance team to construct 100 donated bicycles for the Boys & Girls Club — combining team building, friendly competition and selfless service into one impactful event.

Championing DEI at Light & Wonder

As a global leader in gaming experiences, we do more than create new worlds of play for our players. We’re on a mission to shape a new world of inclusion and possibility across the communities we serve — a world that breaks down barriers and creates opportunities that transcend the boundaries of our industry.

At Light & Wonder, we understand that diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) is not just a series of buzzwords. It’s the catalyst for innovation, success and rich experiences that resonate with people worldwide. More than a strategic advantage, our DEI work is a moral imperative.

The principles of DEI are embedded into each of Light & Wonder’s five core values — values that celebrate global perspectives and aim to foster a highly inclusive culture. By empowering each Creator to contribute their unique talents and insights, our team collaborates as one, driven by our shared commitment to revolutionize the game.

We’ve identified priorities that advance DEI not only within our organization but across the global communities where we are proud to work and live. We know that diverse teams yield great results and are determined to honor and celebrate the rich perspectives each of our Creators brings. We will continue to develop the right policies, educational opportunities and programs to create a culture of belonging.

As the world recognizes and confronts systemic racism, our leadership team is committed to speaking out against injustice and championing anti-racist policies. We are reflecting on what we at Light & Wonder can do to ensure that we foster a diverse and inclusive workplace for all our Creators and are taking concrete actions to ensure everyone feels respected, included and empowered.

While DEI encompasses a wide range of interpretations depending on life experiences, industry context and regional specifics, we uphold our DEI practices through a set of standards and policies that encompass the following:

DIVERSITY

We commit to celebrating and promoting diversity in all its forms, including race and ethnicity, gender and gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, language, culture, national origin, religious commitments, age, ability status and political perspective.

EQUITY

We commit to actively challenging and responding to bias, harassment and discrimination. We hold a policy of equal opportunity for all persons and will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, marital status, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, ability status, religion, height, weight, veteran status or familial obligations.

INCLUSION

We commit to creating an inclusive workplace where differences are embraced, different perspectives are valued and every individual feels a sense of belonging.

We know that by fostering a diverse community and building a vibrant culture of inclusivity, we can enhance our collective capabilities and achieve greater success together.

PEOPLE CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY REPORT | 2022 30

OUR DEI FOCUS

To maintain a clear focus on our objectives, we’ve organized our DEI commitments into five key pillars that directly align with our overall strategic roadmap.

• Listen & Learn: We will recognize the lived experiences that define our Creators, promoting meaningful dialogue and encouraging their valuable feedback.

• Educate & Develop: We will take ownership of promoting inclusive behaviors and equitable practices and holding one another accountable. We will provide a platform for training, learning and development opportunities to support our Creators’ continued growth and well-being.

Recent highlights from our ERGs

• Equity & Belonging: We will drive a culture of belonging for our Creators by implementing programs and systems that support diversity, equity and inclusion. We will also continuously evaluate and address any systems that may pose a risk of inequity.

• Engagement & Inclusion: We will embed and support inclusive communities throughout our organization’s operations and culture. We will actively support engagement with our Creators, customers and communities.

• Measure Success: We will celebrate achievements, measure success and continually evaluate our progress to achieve our goals and DEI commitments in alignment with our core values. We will conduct honest evaluations of our progress and adjust our roadmap as necessary.

RELATE: MULTIGENERATIONAL CREATORS & ALLIES

In November 2022, RELATE members launched a two-part learning and discussion series, focusing on the topic of multiple generations in the workplace. The series explored the commonalities within each generation with guidance on how to best harness the unique strengths of Creators of all ages and experiences.

EMPOWERING OUR TEAMS WORLDWIDE

In our South Africa business unit, we actively promote equality and champion diversity through our commitment to the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) rating and initiatives in the market. We prioritize empowering Black individuals who have been historically under-resourced. Currently, we have achieved a level 4 scorecard rating, which is noteworthy considering the regional context as a subsidiary of a global entity. Here are a few highlights from our efforts across different elements of our B-BBEE scorecard.

• Ownership: We financially assist Trust Beneficiaries who own 25.02% of the local entity. Our focus is on supporting 50% Black female-owned and 50% Black-owned companies. Through internships and Trust dividends, we provide increased support to achieve our agreements’ objectives.

• Management control: As part of our employment equity policy, we prioritize providing opportunities for previously underresourced individuals and actively encourage them to apply for job opportunities.

• Skills development: Annually, we invest approximately $90,000 in training for internal and external Black and African American populations, offering internships, learnerships and bursaries aligned with our business needs.

• Enterprise and supplier development: We deliberately source goods and services from Black-owned companies and ensure all suppliers conducting business with Light & Wonder Africa meet B-BBEE compliance. Within our value chain, we help Black-owned service providers enhance their sustainability and grow their businesses to create more employment opportunities.

• Socioeconomic development: To further improve learning conditions in areas with low economic mobility, we have adopted a local children’s center, providing them with financial support and unused equipment. We’ve also participated in classroom renovation projects; contributed to the development of extracurricular activities, including sports; and provided essential school resources, such as uniforms, shoes and stationery.

BECOMING A MORE DIVERSE EMPLOYER OF CHOICE

As part of our DEI priorities, we are focused on attracting and retaining diverse top talent. We strive to foster a workplace that celebrates diverse perspectives of each of our Creators and invests in their continued development.

Our 5-year roadmap prioritizes the following:

• Educating Creators on our new Light & Wonder core values and creating an inclusive workplace for all

• Supporting the career growth, development and advancement for all Creators and increasing opportunities for underrepresented groups

• Ensuring we have fair and equitable policies for all team members globally

• Attracting highly diverse, underrepresented talent from colleges and universities

• Recruiting with inclusive hiring practices, such as adopting diverse candidate slate processes and crafting inclusive job descriptions

• Creating spaces where everyone belongs and feels empowered to contribute

• Adhering to policies that prohibit discrimination and promote equal opportunities for both our internal Creators and external contract suppliers

• Providing Creator wellness initiatives and programs to support the overall well-being of our workforce

OUR CODE OF BUSINESS CONDUCT

To help us achieve these goals, we have instituted a Code of Business Conduct to ensure ethical working practices are implemented across our company. Policies are in place to prevent workplace discrimination and support equal employment opportunities for our internal Creators and external contract suppliers.

MEASURING OUR PROGRESS

While we still have much work to do to drive DEI across our organization globally, over the last few years, we’ve made tremendous strides.

Through regular workforce assessments, we gain valuable insights into our hiring and promotion practices as well as the demographic composition of our workforce on a quarterly basis. The following data serves as a foundation for refining and aligning our DEI roadmap.

• Ethnic group & gender

• Geography

• Internal promotions by gender & race

• External hires by gender & race

• Global Headcount Movement

Specifically in the last year, we have made significant strides in promoting individuals of underrepresented ethnic groups and hiring or promoting more women at the manager level and above.

While we have made notable progress, we recognize there are still important opportunities to further drive diversity in hiring and promoting Black, Latinx and Hispanic Creators at the manager level and above. To address this, we are focused on building diverse talent pipelines to attract and retain Creators of all backgrounds across the organization. By doing so, we aim to create a more inclusive and representative workforce that reflects the diverse communities we serve.

Since we began our DEI work in 2019, we’ve conducted an internal data analysis to gather essential information that helps us assess gender and race representation across our workforce.

CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY REPORT | 2022 32

OUR LEADERS IN DEI

When Light & Wonder created our DEI strategic plan in 2019, we established a dedicated DEI Council and DEI Task Force to govern and support our initiatives.

Meet the DEI Council

The DEI Council serves as the crucial link between our Board of Directors and our DEI initiatives. With governance oversight, this group ensures we consistently invest in and evolve our DEI initiatives quarter over quarter. By upholding accountability measures, the DEI Council ensures our ongoing commitment to our efforts, helps maintains our momentum and advocates for inclusive practices throughout our organization.

In support of our core values, the Board of Directors takes responsibility for reviewing Light & Wonder’s DEI policies, practices and overall compliance as an equal opportunity employer.

Meet the DEI Task Force

The DEI Task Force is the impetus behind our DEI initiatives, ensuring their successful implementation throughout our company.

It consists of four main workstreams: Retention & Belonging, Recruiting & Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development and Equitable Policies. Each workstream is supported by a dedicated group of DEI ambassadors and advocates who play a vital role in shaping our DEI efforts. These individuals are carefully chosen and nominated by our leadership to represent the diverse perspectives across our global teams. With their unique insights and experiences, they collectively contribute to refining our strategies and help us achieve our goals.

In 2021, the DEI Task Force took an important step by creating the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Leadership Guide. This guide serves as a compass, holding us accountable to a set of standards that reflect our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. It provides practical insights and strategies to become inclusive leaders, develop a culture of continuous learning and improve our hiring practices to prioritize diversity and equity.

As one of the DEI Council’s earliest initiatives, the development of this guide underscores its invaluable role in driving our organization forward, ensuring we keep these priorities at the forefront of our strategic decisions to foster an environment where everyone can thrive.

OUR DEI HIGHLIGHTS

Recruiting & Talent Acquisition

The DEI Task Force’s Recruiting & Talent Acquisition workstream is committed to attracting diverse talent. The workstream is intended to expand our outreach and connect with a broader pool of diverse talent prospects, especially from student populations. Through their efforts, we create internship opportunities and offer full-time post-graduation positions within our organization. To fill these positions, we collaborate closely with our University Relations managers to participate in campus events, such as career fairs and internship programs. These engagements allow us to connect with a wide range of student groups and identify talented individuals who align with our organization’s values and goals.

Notably, in 2021 we sponsored the University of Nevada, Las Vegas’ STEM Career Fair and its Lee Business School’s recruiting events throughout the year. We connected with hundreds of students and prospective candidates to raise awareness around job opportunities in the gaming industry and highlight the rewarding career possibilities within our organization.

In the past year, our recruiting efforts have yielded significant accomplishments, including:

• Crafting more inclusive job descriptions that attract and resonate with underrepresented talent

• Partnering with PowerToFly, an online resource that facilitations connections with diverse talent and expands our network of potential candidates

• Introducing a new internal policy that prioritizes promotions from within the organization, fostering advancement opportunities for current Creators

• Establishing an Internal Mobility Career Site and job board to promote career development and facilitate job transitions within the company

• Providing trainings and implementing operational procedures to support our Diverse Slate policy that ensures equal opportunities for diverse candidates to be considered and interviewed

Retention & Belonging

We’re committed to building a workplace where everyone’s voice is heard and valued — within our own organization and extending into communities that have helped us get where we are today.

Driven by the efforts of our Retention & Belonging workstream, we provide educational pathways, facilitate engagement programs and curate special events that celebrate a diversity of perspectives. By creating opportunities for our Creators to connect and exchange valuable insights, we are actively cultivating a strong community that promotes fairness and inclusivity for all.

Learning & Development

We recognize the importance of providing comprehensive DEI training opportunities to our Creators, as they serve as the foundation for greater awareness and understanding of the importance of these priorities and how they shape our organizational culture. The Learning & Development workstream fuels initiatives focused on providing comprehensive DEI training opportunities to our Creators worldwide. By investing in ongoing learning, we empower our Creators with the knowledge, skills and tools they need to embrace diversity, challenge biases and celebrate the unique contributions of each team member, cultivating an environment where everyone feels valued and supported.

Our Learning & Development accomplishments from the last year have included:

• Creating an education program to introduce and reinforce Creator knowledge of DEI principles

DIVERSITY IN OUR SUPPLY CHAIN

As much as we strive for diversity in our workforce, Light & Wonder is equally committed to developing strong and meaningful connections with diverse suppliers that share our values. It’s not just about ticking boxes; we genuinely believe in building strong relationships that reflect our commitment to inclusivity.

Across our supply chain, we are dedicated to promoting transparency and sustainability in all our business practices. We hold ourselves to the highest standards of integrity, honesty and fairness in every aspect of our work. We are unwavering in our commitment to compliance and have zero tolerance for any form of human rights violations, including modern slavery and human trafficking.

Our suppliers are integral to our continued success, and it is essential that they align with our commitment to strong ethical standards and performance. Together, we can foster a business ecosystem that reflects our shared values and drives positive change.

In line with our focus on upholding high standards, Light & Wonder is committed to complying with the Dodd-Frank Act’s disclosure requirements concerning conflict minerals. We place great importance on this issue and expect all our suppliers to support our efforts in meeting these disclosure requirements. This policy applies to all products manufactured as well as those contracted to be manufactured by or on behalf of Light & Wonder and our subsidiaries, regardless of the location.

WE EXPECT SUPPLIERS TO ADHERE TO THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES:

Complete Light & Wonder’s Conflict Minerals survey accurately and thoroughly, identifying any products they sell to Light & Wonder or our subsidiaries that may contain Conflict Minerals

Cooperate fully with any country-of-origin due diligence conducted by Light & Wonder

Provide all reasonably available information to complete the country-of-origin diligence certification required by Light & Wonder, which includes providing details regarding the origin and chain of custody of Conflict Minerals in their products

By working together to ensure compliance, we can contribute to responsible sourcing practices and promote greater accountability throughout the supply chain.

CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY REPORT | 2022 37

DIVERSIFYING OUR PARTNERS

Through Light & Wonder’s newly established supplier diversity program, we are dedicated to actively engaging with certified-diverse suppliers. This program forges proactive business partnerships with a wide range of suppliers, including those owned by minorities, women, veterans and individuals with disabilities and those who are under-resourced as well as other small and HUBZone businesses. Beyond demonstrating our commitment to inclusion, these partnerships also help stimulate economic development, foster innovation and grow our supplier networks to drive our competitive advantage.

Our goal is to collaborate with partners who demonstrate a commitment to excellence, providing high-quality materials and services that meet and exceed the needs of our internal operations and customers. Each supplier we partner with through the program has been certified by a third-party organization, such as its respective state government agencies, the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) or the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO).

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS

2022 was a transformational year for Light & Wonder with the divestiture of the Lottery division, formerly known as Scientific Games. We have since rebranded as Light & Wonder and have transitioned our company as the leading cross-platform global games company. PEOPLE

Benefits that matter

Our team members are the cornerstone of our organization. We believe in providing comprehensive benefits that extend beyond the realm of gaming to support our Creators’ full well-being. Whether our Creators are looking to enhance their health or secure their financial futures, we offer a wide range of benefits carefully designed to cater to their individual needs. Because when our team thrives, we all win.

At our core, Light & Wonder is dedicated to cultivating a supportive environment that values each Creator’s physical and mental wellness.

To this end, we’ve launched new health initiatives and forged partnerships with experts in the field of employee benefits. By collaborating with knowledgeable partners, we ensure our Creators have access to the resources and support they need to perform at their best — in every aspect of their lives.

OUR APPROACH IS GROUNDED IN A SET OF FUNDAMENTAL VALUES THAT INCLUDE:

FLEXIBILITY

We believe in providing our Creators with diverse opportunities and flexible work environments that celebrate collaboration across our teams, empowering our Creators to grow and succeed, together.

HEALTH

We understand the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance that prioritizes mental well-being. That’s why we’ve integrated dedicated hours into our calendar year for Creators to focus on self-care and recharge. It’s not just a break; it’s a chance to invest in their overall health.

DEVELOPMENT

We are passionate about nurturing our Creators’ professional growth. Their continuous development is as vital to their individual success as it is the collective strength of our organization. We provide extensive learning and development opportunities to equip Creators with the knowledge and skills they need to excel and advance in their fields.

CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY REPORT | 2022 41

HEALTHY CREATORS, HEALTHY COMPANY

In 2021, Light & Wonder launched a new initiative, Half-Day for Health, designed to prioritize our Creators’ physical and mental well-being. Through this benefit, we provide Creators an additional four hours of time off exclusively dedicated to supporting their health. With the flexibility of Half-Day for Health hours, we encourage our teams to utilize this time however best suits them — whether that involves receiving COVID-19 vaccinations, attending routine health care visits or seeking counseling sessions. When our teams can address their individual health needs, they’re able to bring their best selves to work.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we recognized that many of our Creators faced additional caregiving responsibilities, whether they were working remotely or considered essential on-site personnel. The impact of the pandemic extended beyond the workplace, affecting our Creators’ personal lives as they navigated caring for their children, parents, grandparents and other loved ones.

To support our Creators through these unique challenges, Light & Wonder (then Scientific Games) partnered with Care.com, the world’s largest online community for finding caregivers, and provided Creators with a complimentary membership. This partnership connected our Creators with a vast network of trusted caregiving professionals to assist with childcare, elder care, housekeeping and even pet care and grooming.

Creators could also connect with personal and transportation assistants to help manage daily tasks and essential errands, as well as provide tutors and even vacation camps for their children.

During this time, Light & Wonder additionally expanded our ComPsych Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to further support Creators through various personal and emotional challenges. This benefit provided our global colleagues and their dependents with access to counseling, legal and financial consultation as well as crisis intervention services, all free of charge.

SPOTLIGHT All for one

When the unexpected happens, our Benefits team is here to help.

One of our Creators, Natalie, experienced some claims problems when she had inadvertently visited a non-network provider, only because her in-network primary doctor had referred her there. As a result, she started receiving unexpected bills since her medical insurance carrier had not paid the non-network provider.

Rightfully concerned about this situation, Natalie reached out to Light & Wonder’s Benefits team for our help. We immediately contacted our Medical Provider Advocacy team to intervene and halt any further invoices to Natalie until we could resolve the situation.

Working closely with our Claims team, we thoroughly reviewed the claim, recognizing the error was made by the provider and not our Creator.

We advocated for Natalie with her medical carrier, explaining the circumstances and emphasizing that she should not bear the burden of the expense.

After our intervention, the medical carrier agreed to reprocess the claim accordingly. Natalie was spared the inconvenience of unexpected medical bills that could have potentially led to additional out-of-pocket expenses. She expressed her sincere gratitude for the dedicated support our Benefits team provided on her behalf.

Keeping our Creators safe

At Light & Wonder, our passion for creativity and innovation is matched by our unwavering commitment to health and safety. We firmly believe that the well-being of our Creators is the foundation for producing exceptional gaming experiences — from the earliest stages of development through installation and completion. Behind every immersive experience we craft is a comprehensive Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) program committed to keeping our teams safe.

Establishing a culture of safety not only protects our Creators but also fuels the innovation that drives our success. Come any challenge or roadblock, we take thorough precautions to ensure our workforce is safe, supported and encouraged to show up at their best.

EHS mitigates risk across our organization with a systematic and evidence-based approach.

Through diligent oversight, we address and work to prevent a wide range of potential safety concerns, including ergonomic hazards, work at heights, material handling and accidents and injuries. By regularly enhancing and reinforcing our safety measures, we are committed to creating an environment where all our Creators can thrive.

OUR GLOBAL ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY

As the leading cross-platform global games company, we are dedicated to ingraining EHS best practices into everything we do. We have implemented comprehensive safety measures to create an environment where everyone — our Creators, contractors and visitors — can feel secure and protected. By championing safe working conditions for all, we aim to set a leading standard for ourselves and inspire others in the industry to follow suit. Together, we can create a healthier future for our Creators, communities and planet.

WE PROACTIVELY SET STRATEGIC EHS OBJECTIVES BASED ON THE FOLLOWING GUIDING PRINCIPLES:

Prevent Creator injuries and work-related illnesses

Promote sustainable manufacturing by working to prevent pollution and reduce waste

Ensure compliance with all applicable EHS requirements and regulations

Establish EHS performance objectives to continuously improve our operational processes

Collaborate with suppliers and contractors to strengthen EHS practices across the supply chain

Provide education and training to our leaders and Creators about their role in upholding EHS management systems and policies

These global EHS principles are supported by policies and procedures set by local Light & Wonder facility managers around the world.

RECENT EHS PROGRAMS

Over the past two years, we have made significant investments in enhancing our safety management system. With a firm commitment to continuous improvement, we’ve focused on updating our workplace risk assessments and training systems. This involves evaluating the current state of safety measures, identifying any changes or new risks and ensuring that appropriate controls and preventive measures are in place.

We have successfully implemented new EHS management software, which helps us gain valuable insights to hone our strategy and focus on addressing our highest risks. This software enables us to establish a consistent approach to incident reporting, including near misses, hazards and injuries. It also ensures that we uphold uniform language throughout incident investigations and reporting to help us maintain clarity in our processes.

With these new standardization measures, we can create a workplace environment where our Creators have confidence and peace of mind in knowing that their safety is our top priority — wherever their work takes them.

To enhance incident response and equip Creators with the necessary tools and resources, we’ve implemented a lone-worker communication system for our U.S. Field Service teams. The LiveSafe mobile app provides Creators with two-way communication and geofencing capabilities, ensuring they have the means to navigate major incidents, natural disasters or other crises with confidence and efficiency. This app provides a vital lifeline, connecting Creators instantly and enabling us to quickly respond with the necessary assistance. Our Creators can take comfort in knowing that no matter the challenge or circumstance they may face, we’re with them every step of the way.

We prioritize safety not only in our workplace but also in the products we offer and the installation processes we follow. Our Field Service team recently collaborated to develop an innovative modular signage design that effectively reduces both size and weight.

This breakthrough allows for a safer installation process, ensuring the well-being of our Creators and customers alike, and it inspires our ongoing work. As customer demand for new signs and equipment continues to grow worldwide, we are dedicated to delivering visionary solutions that uphold the highest standards of safety for all stakeholders involved.

To support our efforts, we’ve built a strong global network of health and safety professionals. These dedicated individuals help us actively engage stakeholders and implement industryleading programs, ensuring a culture of safety throughout our organization.

Based on the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s recordkeeping standard, Light & Wonder has a current global total recordable incident rate of 0.32.

OUR COVID-19 RESPONSE

When the COVID-19 pandemic presented worldwide obstacles unlike anything we had experienced before, as a global company, we responded swiftly and decisively. Our Global Crisis Management team took the lead in implementing our pandemic preparedness plan to help us navigate the challenging circumstances effectively. As lockdowns were enforced across the globe, we seamlessly transitioned to a work-from-home model, ensuring minimal disruptions to our operation.

Each business unit’s Crisis team played a crucial role in addressing the unique impacts their respective teams faced. They worked closely with our Crisis Management team, HR, EHS, local site management and facilities to ensure a coordinated, comprehensive approach. By leaning into our core values, we were able to better support our Creators across 170 locations — one of our defining moments of “Winning as a Team.”

We adopted the Cushman & Wakefield Safe 6 model to guide the reopening of our offices. This comprehensive framework focuses on essential safety and health elements, ensuring that our Creators could return to a secure and protected workplace. Through our proactive measures and effective collaboration, we were able to minimize the impact of the pandemic on our Creators and successfully fulfill our customer commitments. Safe, healthy Creators and satisfied customers — they’re the crux of our work.

A SAFER FUTURE

Our commitment to a safe and healthy workplace goes beyond meeting regulatory requirements. It’s a fundamental aspect of our company culture — one we strive to continually improve. Light & Wonder is dedicated to enhancing our programs and activities that promote safety, health and wellness to support our Creators in prioritizing their health. We offer Creators safety toolbox talks, health fairs and discounted memberships at local health clubs.

Through special Creator programs, periodic safety training for all Creators and organized events, such as on-site flu shot clinics and blood donation drives, we foster a culture that champions safety and wellness. By investing in the health and safety of our Creators, we’re creating a supportive environment that fuels our collective, long-term success.

MEANINGFUL PARTNERSHIPS PAVE THE WAY

Starting in 2022, our partnership with LinkedIn Learning, an industry leader, has provided our Creators with access to over 21,000 courses on various topics, including DEI, communication, performance management, teamwork, personal effectiveness and building a positive work environment.

We have also partnered with MindGym, a globally recognized organization serving top companies, to provide courses on inclusive cultures. These courses are designed to translate learning into action by utilizing scientific principles around behavior change, moving our understanding of DEI beyond tokenism and political correctness.

To meet our DEI education and culture goals, we offer live virtual courses for all managers and above to better comprehend equity and act as allies for underrepresented people.

Lessons from our lifelong learners

Here’s what some of our Creators had to say about our DEI education offerings:

Well thought out, well organized. Navigated what could be a tricky and sensitive topic well. Presented with great energy to keep the team engaged.

SPOTLIGHT Experiences that bring our learning to life

Thank you for curating and supporting this great course. Courses and training like this provide a great foundation for our DEI learning journey and offer shared language and baseline learning that allow us to continue to grow.

In February 2022, our ILLUMINATE and EMPOWHER ERGs collectively sponsored a virtual event to honor Black History Month and Women’s History Month. In partnership with our Creator engagement platform, Visit.org, and In Full Color, a performance arts studio dedicated to amplifying the work of marginalized artists of color, performers shared original pieces — monologues, poems, stories, songs and dance — in a powerful storytelling event. The performances prompted lively discussions about the social issues that inspired their work and reiterated the value of a diverse workplace with authentic representation.

GLOBAL CREATOR ENGAGEMENT SURVEY

Since 2020, Light & Wonder has issued a global Creator Engagement Survey to gather valuable feedback in how we are doing as an organization. We assess crucial areas such as engagement, leadership and management, communication and teamwork, and core values. Our Creators’ candid responses help us take actionable steps to drive meaningful change and make Light & Wonder an even better place to work.

We are proud that our overall engagement score consistently remains high. Our engagement score rose from 73% in 2021 to 75% in 2022. This upward trend is a testament to our ongoing efforts to create a work environment that promotes engagement, ultimately leading to increased Creator retention and productivity. This score was determined by positive responses to the following statements:

“I would recommend Light & Wonder as a great place to work.”

“Light & Wonder enables me to balance work and personal life.”

“I am proud to work for Light & Wonder.”

Creator survey highlights

75% Engagement rate

80%+

Favorable responses to the statement

“People from all backgrounds have equal opportunities to succeed at Light & Wonder.”

88%

Favorable responses to the statement

“I know and understand the new company core values.”

We also continue to see significant improvements in support of our social responsibility efforts. In response to the statement “Light & Wonder’s commitment to social responsibility (e.g., community support, sustainability, etc.) is genuine,” we’ve seen a gradual 4% increase in favorable responses year over year.

Our focus on DEI is also yielding positive outcomes. Critical statements, such as “People from all backgrounds have equal opportunities to succeed at Light & Wonder” and “Light & Wonder values diversity,” received highly favorable responses of over 80%.

Since the launch of Light & Wonder as a brand, we have placed a strong emphasis on driving our core values. The survey results reveal that 88% of Creators favorably scored the statement “I know and understand the new company core values.” This high score indicates that our Creators have a clear understanding of our guiding principles as an organization. While there is always room for growth and improvement, this strong foundation of understanding sets us on the right path toward fostering an aligned company culture.

Another key indicator of how people feel about work is their relationship with their direct manager. Managers play a vital role in motivating, guiding and supporting their teams, ultimately influencing Creator satisfaction, productivity and overall performance. We’ve seen promising trends indicating that our Creators have experienced continued growth in their relationships with their managers. The favorable responses to the following statements all increased 3% year over year:

1. My manager genuinely cares about my well-being.

2. My manager keeps me informed about what is happening at Light & Wonder.

3. My manager gives me useful feedback on how well I am performing.

The progress we’ve made in DEI, Creator engagement and positive relationships with our leaders is propelling us forward on our roadmap to success. With continued focus on these areas, we are shaping a workplace that embraces diversity, cultivates strong relationships and drives positive change.

QUARTERLY TOWN HALLS

We prioritize open and transparent communication at our company. It’s one of the key factors that sets us apart. To demonstrate our commitment, we host quarterly Town Halls to provide company updates, share information on initiatives and programs and celebrate the successes of the previous quarter. These events also provide valuable opportunities to spotlight our Creators’ accomplishments.

One of the greatest benefits of our Town Halls is the direct interaction with our Executive Leadership Team. We believe in fostering global connections and ensuring that each of our Creators has a voice. That’s why a significant portion of the event is dedicated to live Q&A, where our Creators can receive direct answers to their questions.

Our crew leaders receive discussion guides to lead engaging conversations and guide their clubs through the book’s themes and insights.

Through the book club, we foster a community of intellectual exploration and create space where we can expand our horizons, exchange diverse perspectives and grow together.

CANDID COFFEE CONVERSATIONS

During the challenges of the pandemic, we recognized a critical need to keep our Creators engaged and connected. We introduced Candid Coffee Conversations, an ongoing virtual event designed to deepen our understanding of nuanced topics that affect us personally and professionally. Led by different Light & Wonder leaders, each session tackles crucial subjects, such as unconscious bias, managing COVID-19 fatigue and fostering allyship in the workplace.

By creating a safe and supportive environment for open communication, Candid Coffee Conversations provides Creators with opportunities to engage in close-knit dialogues with our leaders and build genuine connections.

WEEK OF WISHES

Since its establishment in 2020, the Week of Wishes has grown into a cherished annual tradition at our company. During this time, our Creators can submit a wish for themselves, a colleague, friend or family member who could use an extra financial boost during the holidays.

We’ve seen wishes granted for a Creator’s nephew who needed an electric wheelchair and to surprise a colleague with a celebratory

dinner after their 20th anniversary plans were interrupted by an illness. We’ve helped colleagues rebuild their homes after devastating fires and relieve the financial stress of medical bills, supported a co-worker’s child in need of a special walker and facilitated the purchase of a car to transport their loved one to and from cancer treatments.

In 2022, we expanded the reach of Week of Wishes to include every Creator at Light & Wonder as well as our partners at SciPlay. The response was overwhelming, and we were able to grant 243 wishes — far more than the 50 granted the previous year.

This initiative is a heartfelt example of the compassion and generosity that defines our company culture and reminds us of the remarkable difference we can make in each other’s lives. In the words of Light & Wonder President and CEO Matt Wilson: “I have seen the heart and soul of this company truly shine through as Creators demonstrated the power of giving and peer-to-peer recognition. It’s always nice to do something nice for someone else.”

At Light & Wonder, we have some of the top talent and most popular game titles in the world. Fun, collaborative events like the Best Games Workshop are valuable in supporting and cultivating our incredible team of Creators who are truly building the best games for operators and ultimately players.

Our award-winning content continues to thrill players no matter how they choose to play. As we move forward to becoming the leading cross-platform global games company, we will continue to foster opportunities and a culture that empowers our Creators to grow, develop and truly innovate in the industry.

MOMENTUM

In 2021, we launched our new Learning & Development program, Momentum. We handpicked over 60 Manager to Director-level Creators to take part in the class. Over the course of six months, these talented Creators delved into the ins and outs of our Gaming division, exploring corporate business partnership roles and opportunities within Legal, Investor Relations and Human Resources.

Led by senior leaders in the Gaming Business Unit, participants learned about game design, product management, financial statements and how to foster a high-performance culture. Alongside the live courses, participants also received mentorship and personal growth assessments, and they engaged in a final project to identify a business opportunity or raise funds to support a CSR initiative. In keeping with the program’s fitting name, Momentum has been a game-changer, helping our talented, dedicated Creators excel in their careers.

BEST GAMES WORKSHOP

At this highly anticipated event, game creators from all disciplines, including land-based, digital and social games, come together to collaborate and workshop their ideas. Spanning three days, the event features an immersive learning

experience and a unique chance to pitch game concepts for potential launch across all Light & Wonder platforms — including Gaming, iGaming and social channels. Best Games Workshop brings together the best of our Creators’ innovation and creativity and helps pave the way for thrilling new games to capture audiences worldwide.

ONGOING OPPORTUNITIES TO ENGAGE

From team-building exercises and workshops to exciting outings, social gatherings or holiday events, we strive to create an inclusive and rewarding culture that encourages our Creators to bring their whole selves to work.

Across our global teams, we provide opportunities to connect beyond the workplace, fostering an environment where everyone feels valued, empowered and motivated to excel, both personally and professionally.

A few highlights from our recent Creator engagement events:

• Our Barcelona Creators recently hosted a Creator appreciation event to recognize the hard work and dedication of our talented teams. At this outdoor event, Creators enjoyed a refreshing change of scenery and the chance to connect and celebrate their hard-earned achievements.

• To show support for Pride Month, our U.S. and Australian Creators came together for a lively trivia event that celebrated inclusivity.

One of many favorite aspects of game design craftsmanship is the emotional impact that great visuals and sound bring to the gaming experience. Art, sound and animations elicit feelings of suspense, celebration and fun that are at the very core of an entertaining game experience. For me, Artists Among Us represents a real sense of wonder and awe in the power of visuals.

SPOTLIGHT Artists Among Us

Our Artists Among Us (AAU) program was established in 2013 in Chicago as an annual exhibit that showcases the incredible artistic talent within our company through thought-provoking and captivating art pieces across various mediums — paintings, digital art, sculpture, photography and more. Founded by two long-standing employees and artists, Dave Pryor and Steve Zoloto, the AAU program is a window into our diverse, passionate and innovative teams of Creators. Their inspiration and skill are part of what makes us a leader in the game industry.

Over the years, this cultural event has become a beloved company-wide program, expanding organically from Chicago to Las Vegas, Sydney, London and Pune. All of our Creators are welcome to participate, regardless of skill level or job position. Each year, submissions revolve around a theme, inspiring artists to explore their creativity within the given framework. Past themes have included ”Home is Where the Art Is,” ”Star Trek” and ”Wonder Woman.” In 2022, the AAU theme was “Manifest.”

Creator artwork is proudly displayed in company galleries at various Light & Wonder locations as well as in a virtual showcase, allowing visitors to appreciate and engage with the diverse range of talent within our organization. The artists themselves play an active role in collecting, curating, installing and promoting the exhibits, which deepens the sense of pride and community throughout our global creative teams.

Additionally, we’ve implemented new energy management policies on a global scale to optimize our LEED-certified office spaces and promote energy-efficient building practices wherever feasible. We keep a focus on continually improving our environmental management system, and we actively introduce new systems to monitor and track our internal goals.

In recent years, Light & Wonder’s sustainability efforts have garnered global recognition, which is a testament to our ongoing efforts to drive environmental responsibility across our organization. In 2018, we were honored with the Communitas Award for Global Sustainability Initiatives, specifically for our work in Ethical Environmental Responsibility and Green Initiatives.

RESPONSIBLE PRODUCT DESIGN

A sustainable operation starts at the source — beginning with the materials we choose. That’s why Light & Wonder’s machines are crafted from recycled or recyclable materials. We prioritize efficiency in our machine parts by carefully evaluating their quantity and complexity, allowing us to reduce the number of manufactured items and maximize the use of standard, off-the-shelf components to maintain a more eco-friendly product line.

Our commitment to sustainability is also evident in our game displays. By transitioning to flat-panel displays, energy-efficient LEDs and an improved, upright model design, we’ve seen significant improvements. In one product example, these measures have considerably expanded the lifespan of our monitors, resulting in a remarkable 47% reduction in power consumption from our 2017 model to our 2020 models.

This substantial energy savings not only reduces Light & Wonder’s environmental impacts but also supports our customers in achieving their own sustainability goals.

Prioritizing the health of our communities, we go beyond energy efficiency to deliver products that are safe to use. We are acutely aware of the harmful environmental effects of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) found in paints, coatings, adhesives and sealants. To address this concern, we have made concerted efforts to minimize the use of VOC-containing products and transition to healthier alternatives, while upholding our commitment to maintaining the high quality and design standards that our customers expect.

We make every effort to comply with environmental impact initiatives through a variety of processes, including:

• Following internal processes to ensure we are compliant with the European Union (EU) Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) and Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive standards

• Registering with Natural Resources of Canada (NRCan)

• Working with Intertek, a product-testing agency, to evaluate our current machines’ energy efficiency

• Obtaining the necessary certification and authorization to label our current gaming machines with the Intertek’s ETL SEMKO Verified Mark — a Canadian energy-efficiency validation

SUSTAINABILITY IN OUR FACILITIES

At Light & Wonder, sustainability is a key consideration in how we select and maintain our facilities worldwide. We prioritize energy efficiency by replacing older illumination systems with energy-efficient solutions such as LED lighting. Across our facilities, we implement waste sorting and recycling. To reduce paper waste, our printers are centralized and programmed to default to double-sided printing. Our facilities department has made significant strides in promoting environmental consciousness by replacing non-green cleaning products used by both our cleaning contractor and internal staff with Earth-friendly cleaning chemicals.

Improved, upright model design

We encourage our Creators to participate in the following types of waste reduction practices that we conduct at each of our facilities and manufacturing sites:

• Recycling plastics, glass, paper, cardboard and aluminum cans

• Turning off lights and computers when leaving for the day

• Turning off lights when finished using a conference room

• Prioritizing teleconferencing, videoconferencing and web-based collaboration as alternatives to unnecessary travel

• Participating in recycling programs for Creators’ personal electronics, such as old mobile phones and used computers, to benefit charitable organizations, such as the America’s Schools Program and The Blind Center of Nevada

TRANSFORMING OUR OPERATIONS

We maintain ongoing evaluations of areas for improvement in our production processes and transportation between our factory and customers.

Several key improvements include:

• Implementing just-in-time deliveries to minimize overall inventory levels and reduce packaging waste

• Establishing factory facilities to salvage recyclable packing materials

• Eliminating unnecessary bubble wrap, foam, paper fill, plastic wrap and strapping

• Increasing our use of reusable packaging, pallets and dividers to minimize single-use waste

• Introducing improved racking and carts for efficient line-side delivery of doors, hoppers, decks and top boxes

• Redesigning pallet and box sizes to maximize container capacity, reducing the number of shipments required

• Opting for maritime transportation for global delivery of goods, promoting fuel efficiency and reduced carbon emissions

RETHINKING PRODUCT END-OF-LIFE

At Light & Wonder, our commitment to responsible product management spans the entire lifecycle — from sourcing to end-of-life. In alignment with the Waste Electrical Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive, we repurpose or recycle our products to avoid landfill disposal and minimize their environmental impact. When a product reaches the end of its life, it is returned to Light & Wonder, where it undergoes dismantling by a certified recycling entity. Supporting a circular economy approach, this process focuses on the reuse of components, ensuring that valuable resources are given a new life.

Thinking even bigger, Light & Wonder’s headquarters and main manufacturing facility is strategically located near alternative energy sources, which enables us to further reduce our carbon emissions. We have the advantage of accessing the nearby Hoover Dam’s hydroelectric power as well as Nevada’s Solar One, one of the largest concentrated solar power plants in the world. By leveraging these renewable energy sources, we will be able to sustain a cleaner, more environmentally friendly operation.

OUR ACHIEVEMENTS TO DATE

As a company, we’re focused on continuously improving our environmental management system. We are currently exploring new processes and systems to reduce our primary waste streams and increase the diversion of materials from landfills.

Waste minimization and landfill diversion

• We have fully transitioned all shuffle packaging from foam cutouts to using sealed air. We are also in the process of transitioning from sealed air to cardboard materials, with 890 boxes successfully transitioned so far.

• Our Las Vegas Global HQ Production team has initiated efforts to condense plastic foam for repurposing instead of disposing it in landfills. The condensed plastic foam is sent to a vendor for use in multiple plastic products, creating full-circle recycling opportunities.

• Our Las Vegas Global HQ Production team has also:

Bailing and compacting plastic foam gives it a second life as a new packaging product, diverting waste from landfills.

- Reduced 50% of the foam in 31,000 system kit boxes per year

- Replaced 19,000 foam stabilizers per year with recycled cardboard to prevent games from tipping over during shipping

- Reduced foam usage in 8,600 multi-glass boxes

Our Las Vegas Global HQ Production team has successfully recycled or repurposed over 600 tons of retired or decommissioned games in the past 3 years.

The Chiswick, London, U.K., office has introduced a composting program, including an innovative mushroom farm.

Our India offices removed plastic utensils from their offices and replaced them with metal, which can be washed and reused.

Our Athens, Greece, office participates in the Green Office Program, which recycles plastic cups, coffee packets, beans and eco-friendly cleaning materials.

Our manufacturing center in Sydney, Australia, has achieved a 95% recycle rate.

CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY REPORT | 2022 58

Renewable energy

• In 2021, our India offices launched an Energy Analysis and Optimization Project, identifying key opportunities to reduce energy consumption, such as installing motion sensors, managing indoor temperature settings and benchmarking performance for continued improvements.

The Athens, Greece office now runs on

100% renewable energy sources.

Water conservation & preservation

• Las Vegas Global HQ introduced a water and waste conservation initiative by providing Creators with reusable water bottles and coffee mugs. In just two months since the program’s launch, we eliminated 73,820 water bottles and 41,000 coffee cups in waste.

Fleet management

• We are currently assessing electric and hybrid fleet vehicle opportunities in the U.S., U.K. and Australia to reduce fuel consumption and transition to a sustainable model for fleet activities.

• As part of our 5-year roadmap, we are evaluating investments in vehicle charging stations for select office locations.

COLLECTIVE ACTION FOR A GREENER WORLD

In addition to our internal efforts, our team of Creators have been directly engaged in environmental stewardship across the communities where we operate. In 2022, Light & Wonder supported two EARTHDAY.ORG™ initiatives — The Great Global Cleanup Project® and The Canopy Project.

As part of The Great Global Cleanup Project, our Creators spent up to eight volunteer hours cleaning up their communities, and The Canopy Project allowed our Creators to purchase a tree to rehabilitate our natural environment. Light & Wonder offered participants paid time off and matching donations. Worldwide, our Creators have also extended support to their regional environmental causes throughout the year. Our U.K. Finance team organized a community

cleanup initiative in collaboration with Tameside Council. Groups of our dedicated Finance and Facilities Creators came together to clear trash from

some of the community’s busiest riverbanks, helping preserve the local environment and beautify a cherished gathering place.

OUR COMMITMENT TO OUR INDUSTRY AND COMMUNITY

Light & Wonder has a global responsibility to ensure our games, technology and programs align with a healthy world of play. To mitigate problem gaming and serve as an industry steward for the well-being of our Creators and players, we are proud to support a variety of industry and community organizations and initiatives that advocate for responsible play.

In our U.K. Gaming and iGaming divisions, Light & Wonder has played a key role in developing new game codes for safer play. In the first year of operation, we worked with the Betting and Gaming Council (BGC) to establish an inaugural Code of Conduct for the design of online games. In accordance with the Code of Conduct, we’ve taken significant steps to strengthen player protections.

The code emphasizes the importance of player safety and addresses concerns related to problem gaming by incorporating safer gaming principles into the design of online games before they enter the market.

We adhere to regulatory frameworks in approximately 468 jurisdictions.

We’ve implemented measures such as reducing spin speeds, banning gaming features that have raised concerns such as autoplay, and improved access to safer gaming information. We have also incorporated reality checks to encourage breaks in play, further improving our support for customers at risk.

This code has since been adopted by all BGC members and industry partners.

To help players stay in control of their gaming activities, both on and offline, we’re expanding access to support and information and exploring ways to improve game labeling to increase players’ awareness and understanding of key terms and product types.

Light & Wonder invests in programs and systems like Pre-Commitment, software that provides players with a tool to personalize a gaming budget and make informed decisions at the casino. Pre-Commitment delivers each enrolled patron an on-demand view of time played and spend broken down by day, week, month and year. Patrons also receive automatic notifications at the EGM when approaching their set budget. Pre-Commitment is installed in more than 60 casinos located in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the U.S.

RESEARCH, EDUCATION AND TREATMENT

We work with customers and regulators to foster Responsible Gaming programs such as the PlayMyWay program established with the Massachusetts Gaming Commission as their custom branded Responsible Gaming initiative using Light & Wonders Pre-Commitment software. We actively endorse and participate in Responsible Gaming initiatives led by the AGA and the U.K.’s IGRG. This includes supporting events such as RGEW and IGRG’s Responsible Gambling Week, both of which focus on raising awareness and starting conversations about what it means to play responsibly.

Responsible Gaming Education Week

As part of our commitment to Responsible Gaming, we place a strong emphasis on continuous Creator education. Light & Wonder provides Responsible Gaming information globally via a company-wide email and Yammer campaign and at various locations where Creators congregate. This material includes important details about the potential problems of at-risk gaming and provides resources for our Creators to seek help if they are struggling with a gaming problem.

Our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) also ensures our Creators have convenient resources for seeking support for a number of addictions, including problem gaming. The EAP, promoted on the Light & Wonder intranet and through posters within offices, provides our Creators with direct access to confidential counselling sessions as well as contact information for the National Council on Problem Gambling.

These measures include supporting awareness programs such as the BeGambleAware “Signs to Look Out For” campaign, that we promote during Responsible Gaming Education Week and UK’s Safer Gambling Week campaign which aims to educate individuals about the warning signs that may indicate they, or someone they love, is having difficulties with gaming. As part of our ongoing education and awareness efforts with our Creators, we emphasize the importance of recognizing the following warning signs:

• They’re always thinking or talking about gaming.

• They lie about gaming or hide it from other people.

• They neglect work, school, family, personal needs or household responsibilities.

• They feel anxious, worried, guilty, depressed or irritable.

OUR ECONOMIC RESPONSIBILITY

Our organizational structure, bylaws and code of business conduct create and govern a corporate culture of ethics and integrity — from our Board of Directors and management to every Creator. The following corporate governance values help ensure we meet our financial obligations to our stakeholders.

• Financial auditing: Our Audit Committee strictly oversees all internal and external audit activities, including accounting and financial reporting.

• Compliance: At Light & Wonder, ethical behavior is paramount. We are in the process of establishing a Compliance Committee to oversee and manage our compliance program in accordance with the law. BUSINESS RESILIENCY

Light & Wonder’s Business Resiliency program is a proactive initiative that ensures the protection of our work processes, technology, facilities, intellectual properties, brand and stakeholder relations. It is a top priority of the company. Light & Wonder has implemented an active security and operational risk management program, incorporating industry best practices in business continuity. Our aim is to mitigate potential risks to ensure the resilience of our operations and maintain the trust of stakeholders.

The Board of Directors relies on Executive Committee participation and formal quarterly and annual reviews to manage this program. We structure these reviews to align security and risk management efforts with current business strategies, management changes and technology shifts.

The process includes maintaining a “risk radar” evaluation to determine emerging potential issues and stay on top of current trends and pending threats.

We believe that minimizing risk starts with strong incident management practices. As part of our approach, we have a dedicated crisis management team equipped to handle unforeseen events. Recently, this team was activated in response to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and political unrest in Ukraine.

Guiding our crisis management strategy are several objectives laid out by our Business Continuity Plan.
