To this end, we’ve launched new health initiatives and forged partnerships with experts in the field of employee benefits. By collaborating with knowledgeable partners, we ensure our Creators have access to the resources and support they need to perform at their best — in every aspect of their lives.

We understand the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance that prioritizes mental well-being. That’s why we’ve integrated dedicated hours into our calendar year for Creators to focus on self-care and recharge. It’s not just a break; it’s a chance to invest in their overall health.

Development

We are passionate about nurturing our Creators’ professional growth. Their continuous development is as vital to their individual success as it is the collective strength of our organization. We provide extensive learning and development opportunities to equip Creators with the knowledge and skills they need to excel and advance in their fields.

HEALTHY CREATORS, HEALTHY COMPANY

In 2021, Light & Wonder launched a new initiative, Half-Day for Health, designed to prioritize our Creators’ physical and mental well-being. Through this benefit, we provide Creators an additional four hours of time off exclusively dedicated to supporting their health. With the flexibility of Half-Day for Health hours, we encourage our teams to utilize this time however best suits them — whether that involves receiving COVID-19 vaccinations, attending routine health care visits or seeking counseling sessions. When our teams can address their individual health needs, they’re able to bring their best selves to work.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we recognized that many of our Creators faced additional caregiving responsibilities, whether they were working remotely or considered essential on-site personnel. The impact of the pandemic extended beyond the workplace, affecting our Creators’ personal lives as they navigated caring for their children, parents, grandparents and other loved ones.

To support our Creators through these unique challenges, Light & Wonder (then Scientific Games) partnered with Care.com, the world’s largest online community for finding caregivers, and provided Creators with a complimentary membership. This partnership connected our Creators with a vast network of trusted caregiving professionals to assist with childcare, elder care, housekeeping and even pet care and grooming.

Creators could also connect with personal and transportation assistants to help manage daily tasks and essential errands, as well as provide tutors and even vacation camps for their children.

During this time, Light & Wonder additionally expanded our ComPsych Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to further support Creators through various personal and emotional challenges. This benefit provided our global colleagues and their dependents with access to counseling, legal and financial consultation as well as crisis intervention services, all free of charge.

SPOTLIGHT All for one

When the unexpected happens, our Benefits team is here to help.

One of our Creators, Natalie, experienced some claims problems when she had inadvertently visited a non-network provider, only because her in-network primary doctor had referred her there. As a result, she started receiving unexpected bills since her medical insurance carrier had not paid the non-network provider.

Rightfully concerned about this situation, Natalie reached out to Light & Wonder’s Benefits team for our help. We immediately contacted our Medical Provider Advocacy team to intervene and halt any further invoices to Natalie until we could resolve the situation.

Working closely with our Claims team, we thoroughly reviewed the claim, recognizing the error was made by the provider and not our Creator.

We advocated for Natalie with her medical carrier, explaining the circumstances and emphasizing that she should not bear the burden of the expense.

After our intervention, the medical carrier agreed to reprocess the claim accordingly. Natalie was spared the inconvenience of unexpected medical bills that could have potentially led to additional out-of-pocket expenses. She expressed her sincere gratitude for the dedicated support our Benefits team provided on her behalf.

Emotional and physical well-being activities:

• A 21-day wellness challenge aimed at promoting healthy habits

• Emotional wellness sessions designed to help Creators manage stress and foster resilience

• Fitness sessions hosted by Isha Foundation and led by experienced trainer Natasha Unogboji

Wellness Wednesdays:

In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, we organized Wellness Wednesdays throughout May, promoting strategies to maintain emotional wellbeing. Activities included a series of informative webinars focused on sparking discussions and raising awareness around mental health as well as virtual yoga sessions to promote relaxation and mindfulness.

Comprehensive LGBTQ+ health benefits:

In 2022, we launched a new benefits platform that provides comprehensive care for our LGBTQ+ associates. Through the new platform, “Included Health,” Creators can take advantage of concierge services that specialize in connecting the LGBTQ+ community and their loved ones with quality, affirming care that supports their physical and mental well-being. Light & Wonder Creators come together in a variety of wellness activities throughout the year to support a balanced lifestyle.
