Building a community of Creators
At Light & Wonder, we empower our Creators to innovate, champion groundbreaking ideas and lean in to engage with one another at all levels of the organization. We believe in cultivating a vibrant culture where everyone knows they belong. When our Creators feel valued, heard and empowered to excel, we inspire the extraordinary work that makes Light & Wonder who we are.
To further strengthen this strong sense of community, we produce a variety of events and initiatives that bring Creators together worldwide, sparking collaboration and igniting their creativity.

Quarterly Town Halls
We prioritize open and transparent communication at our company. It’s one of the key factors that sets us apart. To demonstrate our commitment, we host quarterly Town Halls to provide company updates, share information on initiatives and programs and celebrate the successes of the previous quarter. These events also provide valuable opportunities to spotlight our Creators’ accomplishments.
One of the greatest benefits of our Town Halls is the direct interaction with our Executive Leadership Team. We believe in fostering global connections and ensuring that each of our Creators has a voice. That’s why a significant portion of the event is dedicated to live Q&A, where our Creators can receive direct answers to their questions.

By acknowledging our teams’ outstanding achievements, we can help our Creators feel rightfully celebrated and encouraged to consistently deliver their best.
Take Care Tuesday Webinar Series
Our Benefits team hosts monthly webinars to provide education and resources to our teams on a variety of topics led by internal leaders, or by our health and wellness partners with the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
Some of our past webinar topics have included:
• Embracing self-love and cultivating self-acceptance
• Making the most of retirement savings
• Energizing work and life with passion and energy
• A Q&A with a medical professional about the COVID-19 vaccine

Book Crews
Light & Wonder hosts a global book club and invites Creators to join as book crew participants or leaders. To ensure smooth coordination, we organize Creators into small groups of five to eight people in a similar region, making it easier to schedule virtual meetings. Our crew leaders receive discussion guides to lead engaging conversations and guide their clubs through the book’s themes and insights.
Through the book club, we foster a community of intellectual exploration and create space where we can expand our horizons, exchange diverse perspectives and grow together.
Previous book selections include:
• Unapologetically Ambitious by Shellye Archambeau
• Leaders Eat Last by Simon Sinek
• Becoming by Michelle Obama
• Delivering Happiness: A Path to Profits, Passion, and Purpose by Tony Hsieh
• Forget a Mentor, Find a Sponsor by Sylvia
Ann Hewlett
Candid Coffee Conversations
During the challenges of the pandemic, we recognized a critical need to keep our Creators engaged and connected. We introduced Candid Coffee Conversations, an ongoing virtual event designed to deepen our understanding of nuanced topics that affect us personally and professionally. Led by different Light & Wonder leaders, each session tackles crucial subjects, such as unconscious bias, managing COVID-19 fatigue and fostering allyship in the workplace.
By creating a safe and supportive environment for open communication, Candid Coffee Conversations provides Creators with opportunities to engage in close-knit dialogues with our leaders and build genuine connections.
Week Of Wishes
Since its establishment in 2020, the Week of Wishes has grown into a cherished annual tradition at our company. During this time, our Creators can submit a wish for themselves, a colleague, friend or family member who could use an extra financial boost during the holidays.
We’ve seen wishes granted for a Creator’s nephew who needed an electric wheelchair and to surprise a colleague with a celebratory dinner after their 20th anniversary plans were interrupted by an illness. We’ve helped colleagues rebuild their homes after devastating fires and relieve the financial stress of medical bills, supported a co-worker’s child in need of a special walker and facilitated the purchase of a car to transport their loved one to and from cancer treatments.
In 2022, we expanded the reach of Week of Wishes to include every Creator at Light & Wonder as well as our partners at SciPlay. The response was overwhelming, and we were able to grant 243 wishes — far more than the 50 granted the previous year.
This initiative is a heartfelt example of the compassion and generosity that defines our company culture and reminds us of the remarkable difference we can make in each other’s lives. In the words of Light & Wonder President and CEO Matt Wilson: “I have seen the heart and soul of this company truly shine through as Creators demonstrated the power of giving and peer-to-peer recognition. It’s always nice to do something nice for someone else.”
At Light & Wonder, we have some of the top talent and most popular game titles in the world. Fun, collaborative events like the Best Games Workshop are valuable in supporting and cultivating our incredible team of Creators who are truly building the best games for operators and ultimately players.

Our award-winning content continues to thrill players no matter how they choose to play. As we move forward to becoming the leading cross-platform global games company, we will continue to foster opportunities and a culture that empowers our Creators to grow, develop and truly innovate in the industry.
— Matt Wilson, CEO of Light & Wonder
Momentum
In 2021, we launched our new Learning & Development program, Momentum. We handpicked over 60 Manager to Director-level Creators to take part in the class. Over the course of six months, these talented Creators delved into the ins and outs of our Gaming division, exploring corporate business partnership roles and opportunities within Legal, Investor Relations and Human Resources.
Led by senior leaders in the Gaming Business Unit, participants learned about game design, product management, financial statements and how to foster a high-performance culture. Alongside the live courses, participants also received mentorship and personal growth assessments, and they engaged in a final project to identify a business opportunity or raise funds to support a CSR initiative. In keeping with the program’s fitting name, Momentum has been a game-changer, helping our talented, dedicated Creators excel in their careers.
Best Games Workshop
At this highly anticipated event, game creators from all disciplines, including land-based, digital and social games, come together to collaborate and workshop their ideas. Spanning three days, the event features an immersive learning experience and a unique chance to pitch game concepts for potential launch across all Light & Wonder platforms — including Gaming, iGaming and social channels. Best Games Workshop brings together the best of our Creators’ innovation and creativity and helps pave the way for thrilling new games to capture audiences worldwide.
Ongoing Opportunities To Engage
From team-building exercises and workshops to exciting outings, social gatherings or holiday events, we strive to create an inclusive and rewarding culture that encourages our Creators to bring their whole selves to work.
Across our global teams, we provide opportunities to connect beyond the workplace, fostering an environment where everyone feels valued, empowered and motivated to excel, both personally and professionally.
A few highlights from our recent Creator engagement events:
• Our Barcelona Creators recently hosted a Creator appreciation event to recognize the hard work and dedication of our talented teams. At this outdoor event, Creators enjoyed a refreshing change of scenery and the chance to connect and celebrate their hard-earned achievements.
• In Sydney, Australia, our Creators gathered to raise awareness about suicide and promote the ”R U OK (Are you OK?)” message, fostering connections through meaningful discussions.
• To show support for Pride Month, our U.S. and Australian Creators came together for a lively trivia event that celebrated inclusivity.
One of many favorite aspects of game design craftsmanship is the emotional impact that great visuals and sound bring to the gaming experience. Art, sound and animations elicit feelings of suspense, celebration and fun that are at the very core of an entertaining game experience. For me, Artists Among Us represents a real sense of wonder and awe in the power of visuals.

SPOTLIGHT Artists Among Us

Our Artists Among Us (AAU) program was established in 2013 in Chicago as an annual exhibit that showcases the incredible artistic talent within our company through thought-provoking and captivating art pieces across various mediums — paintings, digital art, sculpture, photography and more. Founded by two long-standing employees and artists, Dave Pryor and Steve Zoloto, the AAU program is a window into our diverse, passionate and innovative teams of Creators. Their inspiration and skill are part of what makes us a leader in the game industry.
Over the years, this cultural event has become a beloved company-wide program, expanding organically from Chicago to Las Vegas, Sydney, London and Pune. All of our Creators are welcome to participate, regardless of skill level or job position. Each year, submissions revolve around a theme, inspiring artists to explore their creativity within the given framework. Past themes have included ”Home is Where the Art Is,” ”Star Trek” and ”Wonder Woman.” In 2022, the AAU theme was “Manifest.”
Creator artwork is proudly displayed in company galleries at various Light & Wonder locations as well as in a virtual showcase, allowing visitors to appreciate and engage with the diverse range of talent within our organization. The artists themselves play an active role in collecting, curating, installing and promoting the exhibits, which deepens the sense of pride and community throughout our global creative teams.
